Bringing the Law Closer to the Community.

Justice becomes more meaningful when people can access legal assistance where they live, work, and build their communities.

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter joined the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) – Serbisyong Totoo Caravan in New Israel, Makilala, Cotabato, providing free legal assistance to members of the community.

Through legal consultations and one-on-one discussions, participating lawyers listened to the concerns of residents, provided information on their legal rights and remedies, and helped clarify the questions and issues brought before them.

Beyond the legal advice given, the activity was an opportunity to connect with the community and remind everyone that the law is not beyond their reach. Access to justice begins with making legal assistance available, understandable, and responsive to the needs of the people.

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter remains committed to bringing the legal profession closer to the communities we serve—one consultation, one conversation, and one community at a time.

Where Healing Meets Justice, Service Finds Its Purpose. ⚖️🩺🦷

September 24, 2026 | CFCST, Doroluman, Arakan, Cotabato

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines – North Cotabato Chapter, in partnership with the Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC), successfully conducted a Medical, Dental, and Legal Aid Mission at the Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST).

The activity forms part of Project Kalinga: “Alaga sa Kabataan, Gabay sa Kinabukasan,” an initiative of the IBP North Cotabato Chapter dedicated to extending meaningful assistance and support to the wards of CFCST, teachers, and students.

Through the collective efforts of legal and medical professionals, the mission brought essential services closer to the community through medical consultations, ultrasound services, dental care, free legal assistance, and the notarization of simple affidavits and other allowable documents. The Public Attorney’s Office – Kidapawan City District likewise participated in the activity by providing notarization services for simple affidavits and other allowable documents.

This meaningful collaboration between the legal and medical communities is a reminder that when professionals come together in the spirit of public service, help reaches farther, care becomes more accessible, and lives are touched in meaningful ways.

Because service is more than a profession.

As Lawyer of the Day under the Integrated Bar of the Philippines’ Lawyer of the Day Initiative (LODI), Atty. Juree B. Mudanza generously shared his time, legal knowledge, and expertise by providing free legal consultation and assistance to qualified clients seeking legal guidance.

Through his dedication to public service, individuals were given a better understanding of their rights, legal options, and available remedies. His meaningful contribution exemplifies the legal profession’s continuing commitment to making justice more accessible to those who need it most.

The Lawyer of the Day Initiative (LODI) remains a valuable avenue for bringing legal services closer to the community and upholding the profession’s noble calling to serve with competence, compassion, and purpose.

3RD QUARTER GENERAL ASSEMBLY & FELLOWSHIP | LAW MONTH 2026

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines – North Cotabato Chapter held its 3rd Quarter General Assembly and Fellowship on September 18, 2026, at Wiw’s Restaurant and Catering, Poblacion 2, Midsayap, Cotabato, as part of the Chapter’s celebration of Law Month 2026.

During the General Assembly, Chapter President Retired Judge Lily Lydia A. Laquindanum presented a report on the various activities, programs, and initiatives undertaken by the Chapter from June 2026 to the present, highlighting the Chapter’s continuing commitment to meaningful legal service, community engagement, and professional excellence.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for members of the Chapter to come together, reflect on the work accomplished, strengthen camaraderie, and renew their shared commitment to the ideals of the legal profession and service to the community.

Beyond compliance, beyond obligation—continuing to serve with purpose, integrity, and heart.

MUNICIPALITY OF ANTIPAS, COTABATO | LAKBAY SERBISYO LEGAL, ABOT HANGGANG BARANGAY

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter continued its commitment to bringing legal education and service closer to the communities of Antipas through Lakbay Serbisyo Legal, Abot Hanggang Barangay, held today, September 17, 2026.

Barangay officials and representatives from the different barangays of the Municipality of Antipas participated in meaningful lectures and discussions led by:

Atty. Luwalhati L. Villavicencio – RA 9344: A Guide to the Juvenile Justice and Welfare System for Barangay Officials and MSWDOs

Atty. Franz R. Sumangil – Katarungang Pambarangay and the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC): Its Creation, Roles, and Functions

The Chapter extends its sincere gratitude to Hon. Cristobal D. Cadungon, Municipal Mayor of Antipas, and Mr. Diosdado F. Duque, MSWDO of Antipas, for their warm support, cooperation, and partnership in making this activity meaningful and successful.

LAW WEEK 2026 | SPORTSMANSHIP, UNITY, AND COMPETITIVE SPIRIT!

On September 15, 2026, the IBP North Cotabato Chapter kicked off Law Week with a vibrant motorcade from Kidapawan City to Mlang, Cotabato, followed by an exciting Sportsfest featuring basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and chess—bringing together lawyers and court employees in friendly competition against the law students of the University of Southern Mindanao College of Law.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Mlang, led by Hon. Emmanuel M. Abonado, for graciously hosting this memorable celebration; Hon. Board Member Phipps Bilbao, Barangay Captain of Poblacion A, Mlang, Cotabato, and President of the Provincial Federation of the Association of Barangay Captains; and Atty. Freddie H. Baynosa II, Dean of the College of Law, for their invaluable support and partnership.

Special thanks to the Traffic Management Unit of Kidapawan City, PNP Matalam Municipal Police Station, and PNP Mlang Municipal Police Station for their assistance in making the motorcade a success.
