A Gesture of Support for Legal Education

During the 2nd Quarter General Assembly and Fellowship of the IBP North Cotabato Chapter, the Chapter formally turned over eighty-four (84) copies of IBP Journals to Notre Dame of Midsayap College in support of its proposed College of Law. The journals were received by Rev. Fr. Ramon Maria G. Bernabe, OMI, President of Notre Dame of Midsayap College, on behalf of the institution.

More than a donation of books, the turnover symbolizes the legal profession's enduring commitment to learning, mentorship, and institution-building. Through these journals, the Chapter seeks to contribute to the development of future lawyers, strengthen legal research, and promote a deeper appreciation of the law among generations to come.

Through initiatives such as this, the IBP North Cotabato Chapter affirms that service to the profession extends beyond the courtroom. It includes supporting legal education, sharing valuable legal resources, and encouraging the growth of institutions that will help shape future members of the Bar.

This modest contribution reflects the Chapter's belief that the future of the legal profession is built not only through advocacy and practice, but also through education, scholarship, and opportunity.

The Chapter expresses its appreciation to Notre Dame of Midsayap College and Rev. Fr. Ramon Maria G. Bernabe, OMI for their shared commitment to advancing education and fostering future generations of legal professionals.

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter successfully held its 2nd Quarter General Assembly and Fellowship on May 29, 2026 at Waterland Resort, Brgy. Osias, Kabacan, Cotabato.

More than a quarterly gathering, it was an opportunity for members of the Chapter to reconnect, reflect, and renew their commitment to the ideals of the legal profession. As lawyers united under one Chapter, we were reminded that the strength of the Bar lies not only in our individual practice of law, but in our shared dedication to justice, service, and professional excellence.

The Assembly served as a venue to discuss matters affecting the Chapter, celebrate milestones, and reaffirm our collective responsibility as officers of the court and partners in nation-building. It also featured the turnover of IBP Journals to Notre Dame of Midsayap College in support of its proposed College of Law, reflecting the Chapter's continuing commitment to legal education and scholarship.

Adding warmth and meaning to the occasion was the quarterly birthday celebration honoring Chapter members born in the months of April, May, and June. The celebration provided an opportunity to recognize and appreciate colleagues whose dedication and service continue to strengthen the Chapter and the legal profession.
And in fellowship, we strengthened the bonds that make our Chapter more than an organization—a community built on trust, respect, mutual support, and genuine friendship.

Here's to a Chapter that remains united in purpose, steadfast in service, and committed to upholding the rule of law.

Today’s Lawyer of the Day, Atty. Ester E. Vega, rendered legal assistance and provided legal advice to qualified clients as part of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – North Cotabato Chapter’s continuing Lawyer of the Day Initiative (LODI).

Through this initiative, the Chapter remains committed to making legal services more accessible and responsive to the needs of the community, in furtherance of public service and access to justice.

Empowering Indigenous Peoples through accessible legal services.

As part of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Caravan held in Barangay Ganatan, Municipality of Arakan, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – North Cotabato Chapter joined the whole-of-nation effort in bringing government services closer to IP communities and making these more accessible and responsive to their needs.

Initiated through the leadership of Secretary and Chairperson Hon. Nancy A. Catamco of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), the activity served as a meaningful platform for inter-agency collaboration in advancing the rights and welfare of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples.

Through this initiative, the Chapter provided legal counselling, consultation, and assistance in the preparation of affidavits in support of delayed birth registration and correction of entries in Certificates of Live Birth—helping individuals secure legal identity and gain access to essential services.

Access to justice begins with presence, partnership, and meaningful service.

During the activity, legal advice was rendered, and affidavits were prepared and notarized for qualified clients in need of legal assistance.

Guzman, Jr., and the Sangguniang Bayan, as well as to all stakeholders whose collective efforts made possible the groundbreaking of the future Hall of Justice, Prosecution Office, Public Attorney’s Office, and Integrated Bar of the Philippines – North Cotabato Chapter Office in Kabacan.

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter remains committed to upholding the rule of law, advancing the welfare of the legal profession, and supporting efforts that contribute to a more accessible and responsive justice system for all.
