They relied on UNVERIFIED claims… then went straight to court 😳
But the Court didn’t hesitate: Suspension from law practice.

Why? Because in law, “I just believed my client” is NOT a defence. ⚖️
That’s gross negligence and a clear breach of CPR duties.

A lawyer is not a messenger of convenience. They are expected to check, verify, and stand only on facts supported by records.

So when pleadings are built on guesswork instead of due diligence… the Court treats it as a serious professional failure.

Fair or too harsh?

They paid ₱5,000… but got no real case filed 😳
Instead, they were led through fake court hearings and empty updates.

But the Court didn’t just ignore it, it DISBARRED the lawyer.

Why? Because a lawyer cannot deceive a client, especially a government lawyer who is prohibited from private practice and from charging fees.

⚖️ He violated the Lawyer’s Oath and multiple Canons on honesty and integrity.

Lesson: If there’s deception, fake proceedings, and misuse of trust, the law treats it as a serious ethical violation, not just “bad service.”

Case: DIANA RAMOS v. ATTY. JOSE R. IMBANG (A.C. No. 6788, 2007)

They lost tenants… and thousands in rent 😳

But the Court still said: No damages.

Why? Because not all harm is a legal wrong.

⚖️ This is called damnum absque injuria.

Fair or unfair?
