MCMPD LAW — 2ND ANNIVERSARY

Our Story

MCMPD Law began with five dreamers who believed that the legal profession should not only serve the powerful — but also those whose voices often struggle to be heard. From the very beginning, the firm was built upon a simple yet powerful vision — to establish a law practice grounded in justice, integrity, and service.

In a leap of faith after passing the 2023 Bar together — with no influential connections, no generational wealth, and no established network — we chose to build our own law firm from the ground up. What we possessed instead was something far more meaningful: a friendship forged through years of studying the law side by side, strengthened by shared struggles, long nights of preparation, and a common aspiration to make a difference in the legal profession. More than colleagues, we were partners bound by a shared dream and a desire to build a legacy of our own.

From modest beginnings, we worked tirelessly to establish a practice founded on dedication to the rule of law, unwavering commitment to our clients, and a sincere desire to bring justice to those who seek it. Every case entrusted to us and every client we serve represents another step toward fulfilling the dream that began within the halls of law school.

As we celebrate the Second Anniversary of MCMPD Law, we take this moment to reflect on the journey that began with a simple dream and has grown through perseverance, faith, and the trust of those we serve. These past two years have been marked by challenges, growth, and meaningful milestones — each one strengthening our resolve to uphold the values upon which the firm was founded.

Today, MCMPD Law stands as proof that success does not always begin with privilege or connections. Sometimes, it begins with five friends, a shared vision, and the courage to pursue it together.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our clients for the trust and confidence you continue to place in us; to our families, friends, and loved ones for your unwavering support and encouragement; and to our colleagues in the legal profession for your guidance, professionalism, and shared commitment to the pursuit of justice. Your trust and kindness mean more to us than words can express, and we are truly grateful to have you as part of our journey.

At MCMPD Law, we remain steadfast in our commitment to assist you in your legal needs — every step of the way.

Two years strong — and just getting started. ⚖️

🎓 IT'S TRIVIA TUESDAYS TIME WITH MCMPD LAW!

Can a teacher take credit and publish a student’s thesis under the teacher’s name? 🤔

❌ No! That’s plagiarism — a serious case of academic dishonesty and a violation of the Intellectual Property Code (R.A. 8293).
📚 The Supreme Court has ruled that teachers committing plagiarism can be dismissed from service.
⚖️ Offenders may also face 1–9 years imprisonment and fines of ₱50,000 to ₱1,500,000.

💡 Always give credit where it’s due!

🌪⚖ TRIVIA TUESDAY ⚖🌪
Your safety is non-negotiable. 🚫
Under our Labor Code and DOLE Labor Advisory No. 4, s. 2020, you cannot be forced to work during a natural or man-made calamity if there is imminent danger to your life or health.

📜 “Employees who fail or refuse to work due to imminent danger resulting from natural or man-made calamity shall not be subjected to any administrative sanction.”

✅ No pay cuts.
✅ No warnings.
✅ No disciplinary actions.

Because the law protects not just your job — it protects YOU. 💪

💼 WHAT HAPPENS IF A CONTRACT IS "NOTARIZED" BY SOMEONE WHO IS NOT A REAL NOTARY PUBLIC?
Here’s the legal truth, straight from the top:

❌ The notarization is VOID.
📄 The contract remains a private document — not a public one.
⚖️ It does NOT enjoy the presumption of authenticity and due ex*****on that comes with valid notarized documents.

BUT — and this is important — ✅ the contract itself may still be legally binding, as long as all the legal requirements of a valid contract are present.
Notarization is often for evidence and formality, not validity.

📌 Why does real notarization matter?
Because a properly notarized document is considered a public document and is automatically admissible in court — no need for further proof that it’s legit.

💬 So next time someone waves a "Notary Public" sign taped to a sari-sari store, ask this: Are you REALLY authorized?

⚖️ TRIVIA TUESDAY ⚖️
Is fraudulent concealment of one’s homosexuality before marriage be a valid ground for annulment in the Philippines?

✅ YES. Under the Family Code, fraud is a ground for annulment—not because of the person’s sexuality, but because of the intentional deceit involved.
📌 This was upheld in the landmark case Roldan v. Roldan (G.R. No. 268109).
