Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is coordinating with the relevant authorities in Pakistan to complete the necessary procedures for the repatriation of the body of renowned Omani mountaineer Nadhira Al Harthy, who died after being caught in an avalanche on Broad Peak in northern Pakistan.

In a statement issued on Friday, the ministry said it was deeply saddened by the death of Al Harthy, describing the incident as a tragic loss for Oman. It added that close coordination is under way with the Pakistani authorities to facilitate the transfer of her body to the Sultanate as soon as the required formalities are completed.

Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has facilitated an amicable settlement between a consumer and a vehicle dealership in North Al Batinah Governorate, resulting in the replacement of a defective vehicle with a brand-new vehicle valued at RO 32,000.

The settlement was reached after the consumer reported a defect in a newly purchased vehicle, where an engine warning light appeared only days after receiving delivery.
