McCaw Lewis welcomes Te Kūiti firm to the whānau

We are excited to announce the merger of two leading firms McCaw Lewis of Hamilton and Forgeson Law of Te Kūiti under the McCaw Lewis banner. We will continue to operate across the two offices in Hamilton and Te Kūiti with a combined workforce of over 50 staff.

Our focus will continue to be providing excellent legal service to our clients across the Waikato and Te Rohe Pōtae. Both firms are excited about the strong alignment of values and look forward to the opportunities that this merger will provide.

For Executive Director, Renika Siciliano, that focus is clear. “We are passionate about helping people and playing a meaningful role in our clients’ lives, whether it be to assist with new projects or help resolve problems. To strengthen that service locally is really important to us.”

For Kevin and Dianne Forgeson the goals are “to continue to provide the same excellent service, by the same great team but with access to additional skills and increased capacity.”

McCaw Lewis and Forgeson Law are law firms that have long and honourable histories in their respective regions, both firms supporting their communities for 105 years. It has been 40 years since McCaw Lewis’s last merger and 25 years since they had a provincial office. “It is very exciting for two law firms with a long history of delivering excellent client service in their respective regions to be joining forces” says Glenn Forster, Chief Executive of McCaw Lewis

McCaw Lewis offer a comprehensive suite of legal services with a core focus on nine key areas; commercial, property, Māori land, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, dispute resolution, workplace law, environmental/natural resources, family law and asset planning legal services.

Your photo identification serves a greater purpose than just recording your name and date of birth. Documents such a passport, fi****ms licence, drivers’ licence and Kiwi Access card are government issued and you will be required to provide these to various businesses and departments in your day to day life.

It is so important that your photo identification is current, so check the expiry date from time to time and renew well before you need to. A good idea is to have more than one government issued photo identification document. This is because different businesses and departments have different requirements and it’s good to have a backstop if one gets misplaced or expires.

Forgeson Law policy requires all our clients to provide photo identification before we take instructions. We understand that this can be a real challenge for some of our clients. In cases where our clients don’t have photo identification we suggest visiting your nearest NZ Post counter and applying for a Kiwi Access card.

It was a cold and grey day in the King Country today which made for the perfect backdrop for this shot of us in our gumboots. We would like to show our support for the 'I am Hope' organisation which put our young people’s mental wellbeing at the forefront.

Lest we forget our ANZAC soldiers who lost their lives while fighting for our freedom in WWI and WWII. We also remember those who returned and those who fought in subsequent wars.

Our doors close at 5:00pm today and will re-open at 8:30am on Tuesday 27 April. We wish you all the best for the long weekend ahead.
