Today we celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Māori with a wonderful kapa haka performance from the talented students of Bethlehem College, followed by what is fast becoming a Hobec tradition: parāoa parai (fry bread).
As always, it was a hit with both the performers and our staff!

Positive Vibes Only!

Last week, our Tauranga Litigation team spent their annual community day at the Zespri AIMS Games 2026. Dressed up in pink and spreading positive vibes for the Positive Vibes Only initiative, they handed out stickers and bandanas, cheered on the football teams, and enjoyed great yarns with parents and young athletes on the sidelines.

The Positive Vibes Only initiative encourages a positive and supportive sporting environment for tamariki, rangatahi, and everyone involved in sport, including supporters, administrators, referees and umpires, coaches, and managers. We loved being part of it!

Last Friday, the Hobec Community Committee ran our annual quiz, this year in support of Daffodil Day.

Congratulations to our winning team the 'Tiny Teddies', and big thank you to Doug, our Quiz Master, Lloyd's for donating vouchers to the winning teams and to Manhattan Bar + Eatery for providing the pizzas and supporting the fundraiser.

Spring has officially sprung, and with it, the launch of the Holland Beckett Inaugural Potato Growing Competition!

Over the next few months, our competitors across all three offices will water, nurture, and become increasingly invested in their official competition potatoes. The rules are strict, the rivalry is "friendly", and with categories ranging from Heaviest Potato to Best Dressed Pot, the stakes are surprisingly high.

Potato Master Luke Stewart's decision is final. Appeals, litigation, mediation and strongly worded emails will be politely ignored. Stay tuned for updates!
