🚨 Important Update: INZ fees increasing from 1 October🚨

If you’re planning to apply for a New Zealand visa, employer accreditation or a job check, take note: as of October 1st, 2024, Immigration New Zealand will be increasing its visa fees.

🔹 What’s Changing? Visa fees for various categories will be updated. For example:

Accredited Employer Work Visa: $750 to $1,540
Partner Work Visa: $860 to $1,630
Skilled Residence: $4,290 to $6,490
Work to Residence: $4,290 to $6,490
Job Checks: $610 to $735
Standard Employer Accreditation: $740 to $775

🔹 What Should You Do? To avoid the higher fees, consider submitting your visa or accreditation application before October 1st. Applications lodged before this date will be processed under the current fee structure.

It's been 4 weeks since eligible Kiwis have been allowed to apply for Australia citizenship. Here's what we know:
🥝Over 2,000 Kiwis have applied since 1 July
🦘Some have already been given citizenship test dates
🥝Some have not been able to apply due to technical glitches - people should submit a technical support form if this is happening to them
🦘NZ police checks are taking several weeks, but you can lodge your citizenship application and upload the check when it arrives.

But...timing is everything! The Department of Home Affairs has scheduled maintenance on its online system, so Immi Account and online lodging is likely to be unavailable from 8.30pm AEST tonight until 12.30pm AEST tomorrow.

Have patience and you will be able to lodge soon enough! And be patient with your lawyers and agents too, they will get you lodged!

In case you haven't heard, from 1 July, Kiwis living in Australia can apply for Australian citizenship without having to get permanent residency first, provided they meet residency and character requirements.

Excellent! 👍

In the last 12 months over 173,000 people became Australian citizens by conferral - a huge increase on the year before.

This is only possible because of the work we've done to bring Australia's migration system back on track after 9 years of Liberal dysfunction, reducing the visa backlog by over 30% and bringing in more staff to process visas faster.

I also want to take the opportunity to welcome all of our new citizens - as an MP and the Minister for Citizenship, there's no greater privilege for me than to see the culmination of a new Australian's citizenship journey.

⚡️ONE MONTH TO GO 👏
The countdown is on. From 1 July, Kiwis who live in Australia on subclass 444 visas and who meet the residence and character requirements can apply for Citizenship by Conferral.

Remember:
⭐️Residence requirement - in the 4 years prior to 1 July, you must have lived in Australia, and not been absent for more than 12 months in those 4 years, and absent no more than 90 days in the 12 months before you apply
