Good morning everyone! And what a wild one it is after such a beautiful long weekend.

Our office will be closed today. We have staff away in training (and our receptionist unfortunately sick). We will attend to messages and emails as quickly as we can. Thank you for your understanding.

Teresa joined colleagues in Taupō at a conference last week and thankfully the sun came out to play! We enjoy connecting with our colleagues all over the country and always learning how we can improve client care and staff wellbeing, both of which are at the heart of everything we do here at Law Corner.

How fortunate we are to live in a region where nearly everywhere is just a short trip away! Must be time to book a Summer break! 😍

As the beautiful Spring weather settles in (we hope!) we are seeing an increase in clients wanting to make an offer on their new home. Did you know you can ask the real estate agent to send the draft copy through to us to check before you sign it? We will do a quick check for you and ensure the conditions meet your expectations.

We know time is often of the essence and always make an effort to prioritise these enquiries so you can progress your offer as quickly as possible.

Do you have a funeral song? Whether sentimental or tongue-in-cheek, these conversations can be a good way to start conversations with our loved ones about our final send-off. Go ahead and make it a fun and lively discussion.

While you can include preferences in your Will, sometimes arrangements are made quickly and it can be helpful for your family to already know your wishes. Help them get it right - there is a big difference between Amazing Grace and Another One Bites the Dust! 😂

..Just a casual conversation between Teresa and one of her teens recently, explaining the difference between a conditional date and a settlement date 😄 Because as one of her lecturers used to say, if you can't explain legal concepts to your kids, then how can you explain them to your clients?

Throwback to Teresa's admission day, the 30th of September!

Being admitted to the bar is a formal process that all lawyers must complete before practising as lawyers. The ceremony is undertaken in the High Court, where friends and family can support from the gallery. Formal dress and robes are required but the wig is a ceremonial option these days.

In smaller areas like Whanganui, the Judge also takes the opportunity to deliver personal notes to each of the candidates during the ceremony, making the day truly special and memorable. In this photo, Teresa is signing the roll of barristers and solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand which is done just after the conclusion of the ceremony.

This Christmas, we are creating a Christmas Lights Trail to give families another reason to visit, explore and enjoy the Rangitīkei.

From Marton to Bulls, Hunterville and everywhere in between, we are inviting homes, rural properties, neighbourhoods and local businesses to help light up our district.

Your display does not need to be enormous. A decorated gate, festive shop window or a few strings of lights can all add to the magic.
