Here's a design trick that surprises most people:

Pushing all your furniture hard against the walls can actually make a room feel smaller.

Pulling key pieces slightly away from the walls creates breathing room and allows the space to flow more naturally.

It doesn't need to be much - even 10 or 20 centimetres can make a difference.

The result feels less like a waiting room and more like a thoughtfully designed living space.

Sometimes creating space means moving things in, not out.

Can we talk about mirrors for a second? Because they're probably one of the most underrated styling pieces in a home.

People usually buy a mirror because they need somewhere to check their outfit before they leave the house, but the real magic is what it does for the room itself.

A well-placed mirror bounces natural light around the space, making everything feel brighter, lighter and more open. It's one of the easiest ways to make a room feel bigger without knocking down a single wall.

The trick is to be intentional about where you put it.

Instead of hanging it wherever there's an empty wall, think about what it's going to reflect. A beautiful window? Gorgeous. A leafy tree outside? Even better. A styled bookshelf, artwork or a cosy little corner? Perfect.
