Sunstrike! It is that time of year when commuters to and from Kerikeri town are struck by sunstrike, meaning no visibility due to the sun. I once saw a car drive under the back of a truck which made no sense after sunstrike had passed. The car driver was lucky to be alive - I have never forgotten it . In a legal sense, sunstrike is no defence if you crash. You will be liable for the damage caused. Take care folks and slow riiiiight down in sunstrike.

SUPREME COURT OF NZ considers voting age of 16 as justifiable... that would have an interesting impact on the future membership of parliament...wouldn't it..?

Appeal makes it to NZ's highest court, but only Parliament can decide if law will change.

Major changes coming up for RMA
The Resource Management Act is about to be replaced. Government hopes to reduce user costs, simplify processes, by creating two new pieces of legislation which will replace the RMA, the National and Built Environments Act, which is the main replacement, and the Spatial Planning Act.

The Government finally releases its RMA replacement today.
