PROPERTY MANAGERS 📣 🏡
Protect your tenants’ health.
Protect your landlords’ properties.
Protect your reputation.
MOISTURE DOESN’T ALWAYS ANNOUNCE ITSELF.
By the time mould, staining or a musty smell becomes noticeable, a moisture problem may already be well established and becoming more expensive to repair.
The RNZ article below is worth a read. A new renters’ survey found that more than 40% of surveyed tenants who had been told their homes met Healthy Homes standards were still experiencing mould, dampness or draughts.
Some tenants may also hesitate to report moisture or maintenance concerns because they worry their rent could increase or their tenancy could be affected. Property managers may not always hear about a problem when it first begins.
Thermal imaging offers a practical, non-invasive way to look beyond what can be seen. It can help identify temperature patterns that may point to:
• concealed moisture or leaks
• missing or poorly performing insulation
• thermal bridging or draughts
• cold surfaces where condensation is more likely
At CITIS, we support our thermal findings with moisture meter readings where accessible and provide a clear, independent report. This gives property managers useful information to show the landlord, helps determine the right next steps and records how the concern was followed up.
Finding the warning signs early can mean simpler repairs, lower costs and a healthier home for the tenant.
Whether you need one problem area investigated or a broader thermal assessment of the property, we work throughout Canterbury and across the South Island.
