EMPLOYING YOUNG PEOPLE OVER THE HOLIDAYS?

With the silly season fast approaching, you may be considering getting some young people in to help in your business. Or perhaps your child wants to earn some extra money over the holidays. It's a win / win provided you do it properly.

There are a few additional employment law requirements for young people which are important to know. These include minimum wages, health and safety and restrictions on the types of jobs young employees can do.

If you are considering taking on seasonal employees or contractors we can certainly help with advice and/or employment agreements specifically for these temporary roles. Please get in touch.

Who watched Sunday this week? The development in Lincoln versus the preservation of good soil for agriculture and what we’re prepared to sacrifice to help the housing crisis.

I, for one, was shocked when this image went up and I got some context for just how big this housing development is. If you haven’t seen it go watch it on demand at TVNZ+.

What do property lawyers like to do on a Saturday? Read the property papers, check the interest rates and keep up to date with what’s going on so I can advise my clients with up to date info.

Check out these interest rates. Time to swap banks? You could get a cash incentive to move. Get in touch if you want a no obligation chat about what’s involved and who to approach.
