Last week we had the honour to host our Pacific Day in the new Karl Popper building here at UC — a celebration of brown excellence and the incredible contributions of Pasifika in the legal field.
We were privileged to hear from our keynote speaker, Professor Leilani Tuala-Warren, Dean of Te Priringa — Faculty of Law at the University of Waikato, whose words reminded us of the importance of representation, resilience, and community. Our panel of inspiring Pasifika legal professionals — Judge Sharkey, Caroline Setefano, Miranda Gray, Berith Alu Petaia, Curtis Fatiaki, and Fuimaono Dylan Asafo — shared stories that reflected the strength, mana, and pride that guide us in this space.
We were also deeply honoured to have the Chief Justice join us in celebrating our Pasifika legal community, alongside alumni, students, and staff who continue to pave the way for future generations.
A massive fa’afetai tele lava to our Dean Petra, Bill, Natalie, Abigail for your collaboration and ongoing support. And to our very own Tiffany, thank you for always bringing our vision to light.
And last but not least thank you to Nesian Club for your beautiful performances.
It was truly a day filled with wisdom, connection, and a deep sense of belonging — a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do ❤️
