The 26th of September will be a public holiday to mourn the loss of our head of state, Queen Elizabeth II.

What does this mean for your business?

The public holiday will be treated as any other public holiday, so your employees will receive their normal salary if it would otherwise be a working day.

If you do want your employees to work that day you can require them to do so IF the employment agreements provide this. If not, you can request that your employee works that day but they can refuse. If they do work, their standard public holiday entitlements apply.

Give us a call if you have any questions.

Great to see our client, Christchurch Metal finishers finally obtain closure. We handled their serious misconduct procedure against this employee when they began uncovering these thefts.

Unfortunately this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Greg is a fantastic manager and he spoke passionately at his former employee's sentencing last week. Well done.
