This week saw the inaugural screening of Girls Will Be Girls at Hoyt’s Nz Sylvia Park and Christchurch EntX, launching the NZ Indian Film Festival taking place in October across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

Producers of the film Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal travelled all the way from India to attend the launch and the screenings - making the evenings extra special.

Saunders & Co Immigration Lawyers Partner Jen Bensley and Senior Associate Cam Derby were in attendance, representing the firm in its support and ongoing sponsorship of this exciting initiative.

Language requirements are being extended to AEWV skill level 3 roles.

From 1 June, Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) English language requirements will be extended to skill level 3 occupations - an overall score of IELTS (4.0), PTE (29), TOEFL (31), B2 First (142) or OET (Grade D in all four).

This affects people applying for a new AEWV in a skill level 3 role from 1 June 2026, however, there is an exemption for people who have an AEWV expiring on or before 1 December 2026 and who apply for a further AEWV to work in a skill level 3 role before their visa expires.
