Two NEW Seasonal Work Visas for NZ!

Starting 8 December 2025, New Zealand is rolling out two brand-new visas under the AEWV framework to help fill labour gaps during busy seasonal peaks.

🌟 Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV)
For skilled seasonal roles — valid for up to 3 years.
✔ Must have worked 3 seasons in the past 6 years in a relevant role.
✔ Spend at least 3 months outside NZ each year.
✔ No English test, no advertising required.
✔ Can switch to other visa types later.
Roles include: winemaker, agricultural technician, chairlift operator, snow sports instructor, mountain guide, shearer, slaughterer, and more.

🌟 Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV)
For entry-level or lower-skilled roles — valid for up to 7 months.
✔ Must have 1 season experience in the past 3 years.
✔ Must hold health insurance.
✔ No English requirement.
✔ Employers must advertise and engage with or be endorsed by Work and Income.
Roles include: calf rearer, forestry worker, mussel/oyster farm worker, meat process worker, winery cellar hand, wool handler, and more.

⚠ For both visas:

No partner or dependent visas supported.

You can only change jobs within the same visa type.

If you’re moving from a student or work visa, you keep interim work rights while the new visa is processed.

💡 These visas are here to boost NZ’s seasonal industries — from farming and winemaking to snow sports and seafood — while keeping fair, consistent immigration rules in place.

Feel free to contact us if you want to explore further or plan ahead for these visas 🙌

🚨 Thinking about applying for an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)?
Before you hit submit, make sure you meet the minimum skills threshold! 🚀

👉 In our experience, this is where most applications stumble — not showing the right skills, qualifications, or evidence.

✅ You’ll need to prove you have what it takes for the role with solid, acceptable documentation.
