A true example of how much pain a client is put through sometimes………
Our client came to NZ 15 years ago at the tender age of 18 and became unlawful at the age of 19 due to very unfortunate circumstances.
After years of misery and survival he finally saw a ray of hope when we submitted his case to the Minister as an exception.
The Minister approved a work visa for the client, imagine the feeling of being lawful after so many years.
He decided to visit his family back home, whom he has not seen for over a decade. Some of the family members had turned to ashes 🥹
After a short trip overseas and meeting his loved ones, he tried to return home and got stopped at the airport for the most stupid reason and visa (granted by the minister) was canceled by INz at the border.
We had his work visa and resident visa applications in process in Nz - both got declined after a year of harassment and torture from the immigration.
Family torn apart. Small children and wife separated.
The decision was truly heartbreaking 💔
So we challenged the decision to IPT- probably one of the most challenging cases in my career.
After so much wait and goosebumps- WE WON THE APPEAL - INZ’s decline decision canceled by IPT. And they actually got a proper telling off in terms is fairness and justice!
Absolutely thrilled for my client and his sad family who cried tears of joy! They can finally be united 🙏🏻
