What does it take to bring a ballet performance to life?

As sponsors, we recently had the chance to step behind the curtain and visit the studios of Royal New Zealand Ballet.

From watching classes in action to learning more about the incredible work that happens long before opening night, it was a fascinating glimpse into the artistry, discipline and dedication behind every performance.

With the winter season just around the corner, these visits gave us an even greater appreciation for the talent and teamwork that bring these stories to the stage.

A huge thank you to the team at the Royal New Zealand Ballet for welcoming us into their world. If you're looking for something special to do this winter, we highly recommend checking out their upcoming productions.

Costumes from The Sleeping Beauty: The Sleeping Beauty will be touring nationally from 29 October and we look forward to sharing performances around the motu with Dentons staff and guests.

Dentons was proud to host the NZ Falcons, Aotearoa New Zealand’s longest-running openly gay and inclusive rugby union and touch team, for a lunch and lesson discussion on experiences of the rainbow community.

Thank you to Rémi Sauffisseau, Jonah Tan and Marcus Mackenzie for sharing your insights, stories and the important mahi being done to create more inclusive sporting environments.

It was a valuable conversation highlighting the importance of belonging, visibility and inclusion, both on the field and in the workplace. A special thank you to our GLOW Social Impact group for bringing this event together across all offices as we look ahead to Pride Month.

Budget 2026 has landed, and while the path to surplus is more credible than many expected, the question now is whether the Government's bet on fiscal discipline and long-term growth is enough to shift confidence in a challenging environment.

There is real substance in the Budget and the fundamentals are encouraging. But there were gaps too, and the opportunities not taken are just as telling as those that were.

Hayden Wilson shares some initial reflections on what the Budget means in his BusinessDesk article linked here: https://businessdesk.co.nz/article/budget-2026/budget-2026s-thorny-political-issues
