A message for our Pacific families…

In Auckland, there are around 270,000 Pacific people, yet only about 17% own their own home. That is roughly 1 in 6.

One of the biggest challenges I see is not a lack of work ethic. Our people work incredibly hard. It is that many families simply do not know who to trust, who to talk to or who truly understands them when it comes to property.

Part of why I got into real estate came from my own experience. Growing up in a hardworking family, I saw the sacrifices our parents made to provide for us. When my own family went through selling our home, I realised how overwhelming it can feel without someone you genuinely trust and relate to guiding you.

That experience pushed me to become someone people can turn to. Not just Pacific families, but anyone who feels unsure about where to start with buying, selling or understanding property.

Real estate can feel intimidating. The language, the process, and the pressure can make it feel like it is not “for us,” and so people stay stuck, unsure of their options.

For some, it is buying a first home but not knowing where to start. For others, it is understanding how to move into an investment or climb the property ladder. And for many who already own, it is not realising what they may already be sitting on.

Some of our parents and grandparents bought homes decades ago on large sections. What was once just space for family may now hold significant long-term value, development potential or be a strong asset for generational wealth.

But if no one takes the time to explain it properly, those opportunities can be missed.

For me, this is about helping families feel confident and informed whether you are buying, selling, investing, moving, or simply understanding your home’s potential.
