🌟What is AEWV
Accredited employer work visa (AEWV) is a new temporary work visa the New Zealand Government is introducing from mid 2022. This initiative is driven by the need to fill genuine skill shortages, upskill and hire New Zealand workers, combat migrant exploitation.
🌟When do employers have to apply for accreditation?
1.The Government has decided to defer the introduction of the new Accredited Employer Work Visa until 4 July 2022.
2.Employers will be able to apply for accreditation before the AEWV is introduced, from 23 May 2022.
3.Employers accredited under the current system will need to apply and meet the policy requirements of the new accreditation system.
4.Employers only need to be accredited under the new system when they want to start hiring migrants on AEWVs.
🌟The AEWV will replace 6 work visas
The AEWV replaces these 6 work visas:
1.Essential Skills Work Visa (remains open until AEWV introduced)
2.Essential Skills Work Visa — approved in principle (remains open until AEWV introduced)
3.Talent (Accredited Employer) Work Visa (closing 31 October 2021)
4.Long Term Skill Shortage List Work Visa (closing 31 October 2021)
5.Silver Fern Job Search Visa (closed 7 October 2019)
6.Silver Fern Practical Experience Visa (closing 31 October 2021).
