NSW Skilled Migration Program – Important Updates for 2025/26!
Here’s what you need to know:
🟡NSW has announced its skilled visa allocations for the new program year:
190 Visa: 2,100 places
491 Visa: 1,500 places
🟡Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa
- Three invitation rounds already completed.
- Monthly rounds resume from Jan 2026.
- 25% of annual places already used.
- Only occupations on the NSW Skills List will be invited.
🟡Subclass 491 – Regional NSW
- Pathway 1 (Work in Regional NSW) and Pathway 3 (Regional Graduate) open on 19 Jan 2026.
- Applications will be processed in the order received—only valid applications will enter the queue.
🟡A valid application includes:
- Meeting all NSW eligibility criteria
- Valid English test + skills assessment (must remain valid for 5+ days after applying)
🟡Priority (expedited) processing available if:
- Your visa or documents are expiring soon, OR
- You will lose age points within 10 working days.
🟡Pathway Highlights:
- Pathway 1: 6+ months employment in Regional NSW + minimum income threshold.
- Pathway 2: May open from April 2026, depending on demand.
- Pathway 3: Completed Bachelor or higher degree in Regional NSW + eligible occupation.
🟡Christmas & New Year Closure:
- NSW office closes 24 Dec 2025 – 9 Jan 2026.
- For urgent cases, contact them before 12 Dec 2025.
