The LRM Conference Committee is proud to present the first of our speakers at this year's conference "The Climate of Law": Reinhold Gallmetzer, Appeals Counsel at the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and the founder/chairperson of the Center for Climate Crime Analysis - a non-profit organization of prosecutors and law enforcement experts established to support and scale up judicial climate action.

Mr. Gallmetzer will be speaking about the role of national and international law enforcement, and other forms of litigation, in addressing the climate crisis. Something Mr. Gallmetzer calls “judicial climate action” as well as innovative ways to scale up "judicial climate action".

Thank you RENFORCE - The Utrecht Centre for Regulation and Enforcement in Europe for sharing our event! Especially in view of the interesting parallel seminars on European law and International Criminal Law/Human Rights, this conference could be very interesting for your researchers.

Coming Up: A student-organized conference, from the UU Legal Research Master’s Conference Committee, will take place on the 13th of April at Janskerkhof 3. This year’s edition is titled "Empathy on Trial" and will revolve around how the field of Law and Literature regards the role and relevance of empathy in legal education and practice. Renowned scholars, such as Prof. Dr. Jeanne Gaakeer (Erasmus University), Marco Wan (Hong Kong University) and Emma Jones (Open University) will shed light on the theoretical parts of this issue in the plenary sessions, whereas the parallel seminars will address the practical role of empathy in European Law and International Criminal Law/Human Rights.

On the Utrecht University event page, you can find more information about the speakers and program: https://www.uu.nl/en/events/legal-research-masters-conference-empathy-on-trial

The event is free of charge and open for students, scholars and professionals alike. Registration is possible via the following link: https://fd8.formdesk.com/universiteitutrecht/law-empathyontrial
