In this podcast of Studio Erasmus, Professor Klaus Heine discusses the question whether a robot should have a legal personality, with historian and journalist Marianne Klerk and host Geert Maarse (podcast in Dutch).

Last week Klaus Heine gave a lecture at the University of Groningen. The lecture focussed on 3D printing as an example of disruptive digital technologies and the non-applicability of incumbent product liability law. Professor Heine has written about this topic in his paper: What Shall we do with the Drunken Sailor? Product Safety in the Aftermath of 3D Printing, in: European Journal of Risk Regulation, Vol. 10(1), 2019, pp. 23-40 together with Shu Li.https

Last week on Thursday September 26th Professor Heine and his third year Bachelor students went on a study trip to Brussels within the framework of the Minor ‘Political Economy of European Integration’. During the trip the students had the chance to learn more about the ins and outs of decision making within the European Union and career opportunities at European institutions. The group visited the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands, the European External Action Service and received a presentation from public affairs consultancy Fipra international. Thanks go out to the partners for their hospitality and the Erasmus trustfonds for helping make this trip possible.
