Thursday 3rd December - Annual Theo van Boven Lecture 2020: The Right to a Fair Trial in Times of Crisis (COVID-19)
The effects of virtual justice on procedural fairness

Reflecting on the effects of virtual justice on the right to a fair trial is not just a matter of listing the pros and the cons. It is also about (re)considering the importance of human interaction as an (in)dispensable feature of justice. This will be the focus of this year’s lecture, which will be held online coming on Thursday from 16.00-17.30 (CET), 03.00 PM (GMT).

Speakers:
Penelope Gibbs
Director of Transform Justice
Visiting Fellow, Kellogg College, University of Oxford

Robert Horselenberg
Associate Professor in Legal Psychology
Maastricht University

Following these two speeches, Andre Klip (Maastricht University), will kick off the debate with room for questions from the audience.
