Nexus Student Association Nexus is a student association established in the Faculty of Law at the University of Groningen. LLB | Exchange | LLM

It is concentrated on students of International and European Law, however everyone can become part of the association. The aim of Nexus is to promote the social, academic and professional interests of its members and to establish a platform for a social and professional network of alumni across the world. The association organizes many social events, as well as booksales, guest lectures, professional workshops and tutorials for its members.

With the exam season approaching at an increasingly rapid rate, the stress levels of law students skyrocket through the roof, especially in Block 4. Every now and then each of us desires to express our own creative and artistic spirit. 🎨 Admittedly studying the law does not provide us with adequate opportunities to express our-‘creative’-selves; on the contrary, our studies significantly limit our ample time to engage our passions. Thus, if you love to write, want to diversify your CV references, and you would desire to try something new, then be aware that Nexus is offering you the ability to manifest your creative nature by contributing to the Summer edition of Nexus’ biannual Magazine. 📰

The summer edition of the Magazine will have the following theme: “Life post-covid and the environment.”
This means that the topics may range from how the pandemic affected the mental health of university students to how the education system responded to the covid conundrum. 🏫
We are accepting many various formats, such as interviews, poems, personal informal articles, etc. The word limit that we are aiming at is 550 words. If you are interested and would like to try this activity then please remember that the deadline for signing up would be the 21st of May, while the final deadline for submitting your work would be the 31st of May❗

With the new academic year lurking in the uncertain future ahead Nexus is opening the application process for the 2022-2023 board. If you are interested in leading, improving, and refining Nexus, this is your chance to become a part of one of the most internationally-oriented law student associations at the University of Groningen! 🌐
This year the various board positions that one can apply for entail: Coordinator of External Affairs, Treasurer, Coordinator of Internal Affairs, Secretary, and President of Nexus. If you are a hard-working, dedicated, and passionate law student who truly desires to take on a position on the board and help the organisation thrive then Nexus is for you. To apple send your:

The *Green Office Embassy for Law ♻️ and Nexus Law association ⚖️* are excited to announce our upcoming *Moot Court Competition* which revolves around the International Responsibility of States for Environmental damage caused by an oil spill incident 🛢️. The moot court will be taking place on the *13th of May*. More information can be found in the form (https://forms.gle/CwpFjo9VrFc8rhts5).

The winning team and the best speaker will receive special prizes 🏆. There will be 2 rounds, judged by University of Groningen law professors 🧑‍🏫.

Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 ... We should be honest with each other, looking back at it, it is mostly an anxious blur of images. Highlighting Treaty provisions, recalling relevant case-law rules, and trying not to starve to death are just some of the challenges that we are currently facing during the exam block 📚

That is why our excellent tutors have been diligently preparing to create a crash course for 1) Introduction to International and European Law🌍; and 2) Contract and Tort Law 📝. They know what you need to know, and you know that this can help you recapitulate all of the relevant topics and rules for the upcoming exams.

For Introduction to International and European law, come by on Tuesday, March 29th, and Wednesday, March 30th.
For Contract and Tort Law the sessions will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, and Tuesday, April 5th. Prices are 10 euros for Nexus members and 12 euros for non-members. Don't miss out on this opportunity to supplement your studies❗
