Gimbrère Legal is in 1983 opgericht en heeft vestigingen in Amsterdam, Breda, Den Haag, Barcelona en Madrid. Hoewel Gimbrère Legal zich volledig richt op Nederlands recht, worden wij geregeld ingeschakeld als het gaat om internationale geschillen. Dat wij drie vestigingen in Nederland en twee vestigingen in Spanje hebben, draagt daar uiteraard aan bij. Daarbij leveren wij altijd resultaatgerichte

🤯 Fun Dutch Law Fact of the Day

Did you know... in the Netherlands, if you catch a burglar in your home and lock the door so they can't escape until police arrive, YOU could technically be the one breaking the law? 😳

It sounds backwards, but here's the logic: locking someone in — even a burglar — can count as "wederrechtelijke vrijheidsberoving," aka unlawfully depriving someone of their freedom. In other words, Dutch law is very protective of everyone's liberty... even people who really, really shouldn't be in your living room. 🏠🚨

(In reality, self-defense situations are judged case by case, and there's nuance in how this plays out — but the basic principle genuinely surprises people every time we mention it!)
