Some years back around my house in southern Nigeria then, there was this church that was newly established. The church gradually grew and became the delight of the people in the neighborhood. Persons living far away also started attending services.
After a while, I travelled to the West for my National Youth Service Corps and one evening, I decided to take a stroll around my new environment only to find a church there with the exact same name as the church around my house. I was curious so I called one of the Pastors in the church around my house to inquire if they had a branch in the West. To my greatest surprise, the answer was negative.
Luckily for me, when I got back home, I had the opportunity to give them a talk on the importance of registering their church with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Your church's name can only be secured if you register it with CAC.
The challenge is that if you do not register on time, someone else may just register theirs with the same name and when you're ready to register, you will be told that there's another church bearing your name.
This is also applicable to businesses.
Register your church now and secure your name before it will be taken.
