The allegations that 17 young Nigerian doctors were denied internship placement at UCTH simply because they are igbos and allegedly "from the same region" should trouble the conscience of every fair -minded citizen. If the report is true, then what we are witnessing is not just administrative misconduct, but a dangerous resurrection of ethnic profiling in a federal institution meant to serve all Nigerians. This is how nations rot - from the normalization of injustice wrapped in bureaucracy.

These are not statistics, they are human beings - young men and women who endured sleepless nights, endless exams, and years of sacrifice to answer the call to save lives. To shut the doors of opportunity against them because of their names or origin is an act of cruelty that scars the soul of a nation. When hardwork is discarded and replace with ethnic suspicion, hope dies, and resentment take its place .

Nigeria cannot continue to preach unity while practicing exclusion. At a time when our hospitals are understaffed and our doctors are fleeing abroad in record numbers, rejecting qualified professionals on ethnic grounds is not just immoral- it is self destructive. Every act of discrimination pushes another young professional closer to the airport and further away from believing in Nigeria as a shared project.

This moment demand outrage, not silence. Federal institutions are not tribal estates, and public offices are not tools for ethnic gate keeping. The authorities must investigate this matter openly and decisively, and those responsible must be held to account. Nigeria belong to all of us - or it belongs to none of us. We must choose justice, equality, and humanity, before injustice finishes the work that poverty and insecurity have already begun.

Time for the authorities to act is now. The world is watching.

Tony Elemelu
I seldomly write and post about individuals, but something within me has compelled me to share this about Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu,

Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu stands out as a towering figure in the African economic renaissance—a man whose vision transformed enterprise into a tool of hope. From humble beginnings, he rose with discipline and courage, demonstrating that African ambition, when matched with purpose, can shape destinies far beyond borders.

In the world of finance, his impact is unmistakable. By building and expanding institutions that connect Africa to itself and to the world, he redefined banking as an engine of inclusion, opportunity, and trust. His leadership strengthened markets, empowered businesses, and brought millions into the promise of formal economic participation.

Yet, his legacy extends beyond institutions to ideas. Through "Africapitalism," Tony Elumelu gave Africa a philosophy of progress—one that insists that wealth must create value for society, and that profit must walk hand in hand with responsibility. It is a belief that has inspired a generation to see business not merely as commerce but as service.

Through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, this philosophy became action. By investing in young entrepreneurs across Africa, he planted seeds of self-reliance, innovation, and dignity. Each enterprise supported is a testament to his faith in Africa's youth and his commitment to sustainable development.

His investments in energy and infrastructure speak to a deeper understanding of nation-building—that no economy can rise without power, industry and long- term vision. In this sectors, he continues to help lay the foundation upon which future prosperity will stand.

On the global stage, TOE is a compelling African voice - confident, principled and forward- looking. He engages the world not as a petitioner, but as a partner, reminding global leaders that Africa is not define by its challenges, but by its possibilities.

Above all, Tony Elumelu greatness lies in impact. He has shown that true success is measured not by what one accumulates, but by what one enables others to become. His life affirms that leadership is most powerful when it uplifts.

Today, I honour more than a bussinessman, I celebrate a builder of institutions, a champion of ideas, and a believer in Afirca.

Tony Elemelu legacy will echo through generations- as a reminder that when vision meets purpose, a continent can rise.

Take your flowers the master of them all.
