On Afe Babalola and Dele Farotimi

First, it is incredible to me that there is still a Judge in Nigeria who would accept a case based on the so-called "criminal defamation" ground in Nigeria. Based on the current state of our Constitution, in regard to the constitutional guarantee of the right to expression, there is no leg to support the criminal prosecution of speech in Nigeria again. If there is one charge to be dismissed summarily and on the spot by judges in Nigeria, it is criminal defamation on the ground of unconstitutionality. That that does not happen and that a Nigerian judge can deny bail to a person accused of "criminal prosecution" under the state of the Criminal Law provision relating thereto today - puts on display the very poor quality - intellectually and morally - of the men and women who sit on the Nigerian judiciary. The burden of proving a prima facie case is so high and against the prosecution that no other conclusion is possible.

Two, Afe Babalola, as a senior member of the Bar ought to know better. However, knowing better is not something common among Nigeria's money-sullied so-called elite, especially of the legal community, largely because the spiritual platforms for helping them know better have become sillified. When Pastors, especially those with visible social media vuvuzelas, like David Ibiyeomie, Johnson Suleman, etc readily use Police to harrass fellow-citizens in the name of "criminal defamation", it is therefore possible for a person like Afe Babalola to think that somehow, it is justifiable for him to do similarly. Pastors and Christians voices in the public square - not Islam or pagan religious voices which exist to promote transient power, self conceit and material acquisitiveness - are the only hope for a moral majority in any nation necessary to uphold ethical pretensions in policy and political spaces without which Republicanism - the peremptory governance principle Nigeria is founded on - becomes impossible.

Three, using police powers to arrest and detain people for "speech" is evidence of an unregenerate heart happy to live with an evil conscience so long as the truth is officially transfigured in the public space to become a lie favourable to us. In that sense, it is a common practice in every godless society dominated by the ethos of spurious religions like African traditional religion, pentecostalism, catholicism, White garmentisim, Islam, Budhism, feminism, etc. One thing unites all those religion-wannabes: a hatred for truth and a love for lying. Another thing unites them: the readiness to utilize the coercive forces of the State to turn any inconvenient half-truth into a lie. Those false religions dominate Nigeria today, and until the light of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus breaks through in Nigeria, there would be no knowing of the truth - "knowing" here meaning so much more than head knowledge but rather such an overwhelming exposure, union, commitment, and lawful copulation with the truth that renders the telling of a lie a live and dangerous thing to the wellbeing of that person.

That is, "knowing the truth" means such a real and substantive marriage with the truth that makes a man so obligated to debate to defend the truth and dispel a lie against the truth to the point where an official but public divorce with truth-telling is required before a lie can be considered. Today, in Nigeria, every one lies customarily. Every Nigerian you know will sign an affidavit with lies knowing them to be lies but not caring that it is a crime or that God has foresworn to punish those swear falsely.

People who go to arrest their fellow citizens - instead of debating them or suing them for defamation so as to debate them properly before a judicial referee needs to be seen as the liars, out of hand, out to cover a scurrilous lie. That is how we must begin to look at people who go to bribe the Police to arrest their fellow countrymen for "criminal prosecution" until we can raise a corps of judges with the common sense to say "gerrout 'a' here" each time a corrupt police prosecutor tries to besmirch the halls of their court with the demonic charge of criminal defamation. We must stop lying to ourselves that such a person has any case to ventilate which can stand up to the evidentiary scrutiny of the truth wheeled on cross-examination.

So, for me, based off those alone, Afe Babalola has no case worthy of the name. And I have not even read Dele Farotimi's book - and I will.

There are three categories of prophecies made in pentecostal churches. And they line up perfectly with the three temptations of Jesus.

Category one are prophecies that stones would become bread if you say Amen. Stones are abundant in nature. Who needs to work if they can command stones to become bread whenever the pangs of hunger appears. These prophecies relate to the dynamics that affect provisions in our lives. It is your business, how to start, sustain or revive one. It is your employment, how to secure, keep and be promoted at one. It is about your networks or relationships: how to leverage them so as to get contracts, favours, gifts, etc.

Under this category, pentecostal prophecies and operators channel the Devil and repudiate Christ. The Devil want you to approach all the issues of life from the standpoint of the "miraculous" and the instantaneous: lawlessness. Satan does not want you to learn the diligence, longsuffering, patience, wisdom required to plant, harvest, mill and bake your bread. He does not want us to learn the de-limiting laws of nature - science - and by understanding them build machines and processes - technology - that advance lives. That's perhaps why nations where pentecostalism predominates - like Africa and South America - are mostly poor and technologically under-developed. Because they are taught to live a life where "impossibility" and "Limitations" are bad things - are enemies that need to be miraculously prophesied away. Stone turning to bread, now now, is Satan's preferment for man because he knows man hates work instinctually. And so he makes us feel entitled to bread so that if we do not get it that way, we will feel obliged and justified to steal, or scam, or pr******te ourselves or merely import and sell (while ignoring our God-given space and resources) or just jappa to where we feel all that we covet and are entitled to are already present. Christ, on the other hand, wants us humans to approach provision from the standpoint of what is written: obedience. He wants us to give glory to God's faithfulness to His promise that "as long as the earth remains, seed times and harvest times shall never cease". So, in Christ's way, we plant, tend, process, bake and eat with thanksgiving to God.

Category two are prophecies that project that it is God's will that we be allowed to live on the edge, seek our thrills, live for fun and be eternally exuberant in the pursuit of zesty youthfulness. This category of prophecies channel Satan's effort to railroad Christ and His followers into a life guided by the blindness of human emotions! Or Hormones!. These sets of prophecies help the Devil box us into a lifetime of schemes and orchestrations patterned after our so-called personality traits: extraversion (also often spelled extroversion), agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, and neuroticis. If it feels good to the heart, we follow the heart! If we can imagine or invent it, we pursue it with "decreeing and declarations". These prophecies, as a mark of spirituality, push us to always aim for mountain-top experiences. Next level! Mega-this and mega-that.

Jesus rebukes all that by pointing back to what is written in Scripture which demonstrates clearly that those who live mountain-top spiritualism are attempting to "tempt the Lord": a dangerous thing since God does not pander to human whimsicality. For God is a consuming fire. Instead of the spectacular sight of jumping off the top of the temple, Jesus fulfills prophecies by arriving at the temple on the back of a foal (a young donkey), like a modest farmer, and because he followed God's way, Hosannas rang out.

Category three prophecies of pentecostalism are of course the worst. These ones, unlike the first two, do not promise a measure of success or even experience. This category promises to deliver the world to the adherents. Everything. To support this blasphemy, Satan and pentecostal prophets pull out Scripture that say, out of context, that more or less, "ALL THINGS ARE YOURS". Then they make you repeat it several times with emphasis on "All". These prophecies are not only blasphemous but always come with demands that more or less amount to bowing to the Devil. They will demand you do things you know by reason are wrong and which you know by Scripture are not commanded by God. They will ask you to comb your hair. Or drink olive oil. Or lie down naked. Or parade your compound at midnight. Or go to a graveyard to pray. Or give your savings/treasures as "seeds". Some will go as far as to demand sexual in*******se. Or require you leave your business and come serve them or the ministry on their say-so. The list is endless but the objective is to always to get you to bow to what you know, in your heart and by reason and by Scripture is not God. And that you do it in a quest to secure what you consider your highest ambitions.

The answer to this latter prophecies, according to Jesus, is "get thee behind me". That is, exit. Separation. End of discussion. To go away from that "prophetic" circle or network.

So, when you get to stage three and yet you still feel yourself obliged to continue, as most of us do, it is evidence that you are not of Christ. That you are not a believer. That you are not a worshipper of God. That you need to cry to God and His Christ to save you for the first time ever.

Christ is faithful and just to save all who cry to Him.

Mega-hospitals are reportedly being built here and then there in Nigeria now. But not by hands-on Doctors who have practiced medicine within the last 10 years. Or by government entities as part of their effort to serve the electorate.

They are being built by Pastors of mega-Churches. Oyakhilome here. Enenche, there. Suleman here. Oyedepo there. Each of those hospitals always attract the label of "first" something about something in Africa or Nigeria. Or "biggest" something about something in Nigeria or Africa.

Hospitals are being built in Nigeria by persons who for decades spent time de-marketing hospitals. And medications. They are being built by persons who for several decades used high decibel vuvuzela to assert, directly or by inference that all you need for malaria was faithaquine; all you need for headache was faithadol; and all you need for your injury was faithfaithrise.

These men and their cronies are now building hospital who was told you that the medical care for your child was "faithdiatrics; for pregnant wife was faithretics and faithnacology; for your internal medicine and surgery a faithgeon; for cancer treatment a faithcologist; for your mentally disturbed ones a faithciatrist; and for your heart ailments, a faithdiologist.

Those men, selfsame men, are now building "first this", "biggest this" hospitals after forcing the existing private sector led competition to largely shut down and after forcing the potential competition to jappa to lands far away.

Now they are building hospitals. Way way above your means. They took from you what you already have by promising you what you could never have - instant, medicine-free healing. You paid them well for those false promises. You made them extremely rich for those false promises. Yet, you know the truth: you fell sick; your wives fell sick; your children fell sick; your parents fell sick; your relatives fell sick; and your neighbours fell sick.

Sickness and illness and injuries have been alive and well around you. You have devoted significant resource - time, care, money, expertise - managing sickness. Even as you kept confessing as they said you should confess; even as you attended their "healing streams" and "healing schools"; even as you shouted the "loudest hallelujah" seventy seven times seven times.

You have seen sickness or injury or illness in your body or around you - regardless of the "fire, fire, fire" and "blood of Jesus" immunity exercises you have undertaken at mountains, in camps, at crusades, or retreat. You have seen those even though you shake your heads everyday with multitude of Jerry-Ezesque characters all over the internet sucking away at your data and your vitality.

Now, they are building luxury hospitals which you paid for, after helping you destroy the healthcare you had which you needed to help sustain, refresh and grow to service your ever-growing communities.

If you do not wake up, one day, you would wake up only to see that they are building barbing salons and the tailor shops next to you. With price tags that would cost you your arm and a leg to afford.

That's not the plan of God the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ for you. His will is that you will know the truth and that t he truth sets you free.

The trouble is not with Nigeria: there is a troubling of Nigeria. Chinua Achebe was wrong. The malefactors that afflict Nigeria and whatever is left of "Nigerians" (at this point, just a handful of individual) are distinguishable from Nigeria.

The greatest weapon being used to trouble Nigeria is atheism: the o***m of the masses. For long before there was a yahoo-yahoo boy in Nigeria, Europe gave the world that historical fraudster, Karl Marx, who successfully defamed meek religion by attributing to it the character of something alien to Europe - o***m - which he was raring to afflict Europe with: atheism.

Societies that do not know - at the conjugal level - a measure of true religion go berserk: mad. Those societies are troubled by the sort of madness driven, not by chance or genetics or traumas, but rather the sort voluntarily submitted to for "fun and adventure" and maintained as a booming business by diabolical merchants who love money more than they love sanity: more than they love the treasure of sharing community with "normal" people.

Nigeria has been a fertile ground for exotic strains of atheism - Pentecostalism, Islam, Paganism, Catholicism, Syncretism and the small, in your face category called "atheism" which helps the other very powerful atheist machines operate in the guise of that they exist and operate to destroy: true religion.

For atheism, properly situated, in its historicity means no more than the active dismissal of the true God and the suppression of his knowledge. That's why Catholicism, Pentecostalism, paganism, syncretism and Islam thrive very well wherever the atheist worldview gains ascendancy, through the secular educational gimmickry of so-called modernisation.

Just look at the United Kingdom. Or the whole of Europe. Just look at South America, lands now conquered by drug-powered gangs. Just look at North America, especially the once might USA, Canada or worse Mexico. Take a look at South Africa and its African cousins, especially Nigeria. Glance at China or even Japan.

These are all now super-troubled lands. Yet they all had significantly rid themselves of the supposed o***m: true religion consistent with the Bible. Atheism is official areligion in most, if not all of them. Catholicism, Pentecostalism, Islam, paganism and syncretism are thriving in all of them.

The only religion that suffers in all of them? You are right! The true religion that is consistent with the Christian Scripture. Once you go there, suddenly there is unity among all of them, which masquerade in public as rivals but which leaders are all joined at the hip in purpose -wealth acquisition and the good life- to quash and oppose that which is true.

The real o***m has, within one century, been used to displace the light and salt of the world.

The problem is this: a nation is only as livable to the extent to which it has been marinated by that light and salt of the world. Some - Europe and North America - still retains a huge dose of light and salt poured into them providentially by their truly religious ancestors not so far away. Others, like China, still stand due to a strong network of underground Churches whose millions of members anonymously serve their land drawing in God's flavouring and daily sunning.

Nigeria has no such historicity or contemporaneity. We have no past history of being a godly nation. Instead, our history is pockmarked by centuries of worshipping what is not God: idols. And our contemporaneous history is besmirched by all that aggressively fights to displace true religion while parading itself as one.

That's the true trouble. And it is not with Nigeria. It is from Satan. That is why Jesus died. It is Jesus Way, or we are on the highway to Hell. That's the proper diagnosist of Nigeria. Achebe was used to tell that which was wrong.

A nation, including its leadership is only as noble as its religion. And that explains why Pentecostals love to delegitimise the "word" religion a lot. Most go as far as to say that "Christianity" is not a religion but a "lifestyle" (that shallow). They say that in spite of the express statement of Scripture that "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1: 27

How does Oyedepo and other pentecostal leaders do justice to their underlings and poor members? Do they cheat and use unequal weights while calling it favour? Do they extort them while aggrandising for their maximum personal and family comfort? That's the ethics politicians who look up to them will showcase. Doesn't Kumuyi lose his wife, Adeboye lose his son, Oyakhilome gets kicked out of marriage by his wife and Muoka lose two marriages in a row, while promising their members the exact opposites of their lots? Isn't that how politicians in Nigeria brazenly treat Nigerians, with infant easily debunkable lies?

How about Islamic sheiks and mallams? Do they do any better? Wouldn't most prefer to have a caliphate where they can marry as many wives and concubines as possible while jetting around luxury corners of the world on pilgrimage? Isn't Boko Haram the logical conclusion of Islam.

How about traditional rulers/worshippers and their fellow conservatories of "traditional" values? Like the Ooni of Ife? Or the whole lot of them, with their "Chiefs" and chief priests? If Nigeria was run like they run their fashion styles, palaces and harems, what kind of country would we have?

How about the seemingly milder face of Catholicism and orthodox systems that ape it to varying degrees? With its love for giant buildings, marbled walls, endless sculptures and paintings, all erected defiantly beside mostly squalid neighbourhoods? A system that calls fathers men who would never father no one (lawfully), by the only method known to God and men: birth and adoption in an actual homestead? A system that draws a separation in uniform and daily association between the shepherds and their sheep? That ethics, see some of it in your politicians readiness to live as if they are an island of wealth in the ocean of execrable poverty?

Nigeria, like any other nation, is equal to its religion, or its lack thereof. For eligion is not the o***m of the people. Religion is the light and salt of the world, any nation, any family and any individual person.

Look at your life now, family and personal, and thank your religion for it. And look at your future, you will thank or hate your religion for it.

That's why you need to pause and ponder the question of religion. And it is a narrow question: what would you do with Jesus Christ. The true one revealed in Scripture: the Way, the Truth, the Life. There really is no other question worth battling with until you settle that one.

That's the only way to escape the never ending trouble of looking where next to jappa, whenever your perceived luck runs out, or your "destiny-connectors" suffer a break in transmission. Jesus, the true Jesus, revealed by Scripture, is the only way to live by faith. For the just (fully justified by Jesus' sacrifice) shall live by faith.

WHAT DOES ABEL DAMINA, ON ONE SIDE, AND ENOCH ADEBOYE, W.F. Kumuyi and their sons on their other side, ridicule as "Once saved, always saved?"

"12 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, 15 but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.'" (2 Samuel 7:12-16, ESV)

WHAT THEY BOTH RIDICULE IS THE TRUTH that in Jesus, and because of the sacrifice of Jesus, God eternally secured for himself "children" whom he treats better than any man has ever treated his children: In Christ Jesus, God raises children who He then disciplines and matures successfully unto the full measure of the stature he has set out for them so that He may receive ALL the glory. As the new testament Scripture says, "behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us that we shall be called the sons of God".

That truth is found throughout Scripture, old and new testament. Everywhere. If you read the Bible, properly, starting from Chapter 1 of each book, and reading verse to verse. God's promise of eternal life means just that: eternal life. It is not start-stop-start-stop-start-stop life, depending on how good you are at any point in time.

That purely biblical doctrine of salvation in Jesus was recovered by the Protestant Reformation (under Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, etc) after it was universally ridiculed and stolen away from mainstream Christianity by Satan using Roman Catholicism until one of their monks, Martin Luther, who was thoroughly exhausted unto death by the Roman Catholic false depiction of salvation opened his Bible and actually read it. And was blessed by God with sight to actually understand what it said literally. That "salvation is of the Lord". That "salvation is not by works of human righteousness".

When Martin Luther tried to share that awesomely liberating truth with his Roman Catholic 'brethren', he found death and destruction chasing him. From the Pope to the smallest cathecist. For, to teach that salvation was by grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God as the Merciful One alone was declared anathema by the Roman Catholic Church. And anyone who believed and preaches that was to be killed by excruciating means: including being burned at the stake.

Martin Luther was asked to recant and fall back in line into his miserable life. He refused declaring that famous quote:

"“My conscience is captive to the Word of God. Thus I cannot and will not recant, because acting against one's conscience is neither safe nor sound. Here I stand; I can do no other. God help me.”

His courage in the defence of God-ordained truth sparked a flame in the public square that gave the heretical Roman Catholic system a good beat-back. People began to seek to return to God again as their Father and Saviour: not as something out there, great, terrible and miraculous (for the right price) but manageable behind the shroud and hands and mouths of human priests through the vicarage of the Pope. Light began to shine again in the public square of humanity forcing back the monopoly of darkness enforced through Roman Catholicism.

One of the main result of that Protestant Reformation was the return of the Bible into the hands of real people through translations in real languages of real people - something then banned under the penalty of death by the Roman Catholic Church. To read that Bible, literacy of the common populace became a thing and the seeds that led to modern educational system for all and sundry was laid. Schools. Media and publications. Inalienable rights that cannot be taken away by even human sovereigns and governments. Those were the fruit of a return to the knowledge that God has chosen to make sons out of mere mortals and that He will not share His glory in that "Fatherhood" with anyone: human or angel.

Of course Satan was unhappy with that. Losing some of his slaves, even if he still had a lot remaining in his captivity wasn't enough for him. He had to device a way to undermine the Protestant Reformation so that he can have it all: he can bring back every under his hell-bound chains.

The result? Pentecostalism. In its various waves. Pentecostalism exist to subvert again the love-monopoly of God as the Father over His household. Just like Catholics called and continue to call their leaders "Fathers", it is why Pentecostalism thrives wherever there is a powerful "Father-in-the-Lord" who cannot be 'touched". A person who is treated as a god. A person who presumptuously promises powers and outcomes that rightfully belong to God alone.

And just like Martin Luther's time, today's Pentecostalism insist that no one really is a son of God - for real. You are only kind of, sort of, a child of God when you are good. And perfect. Jesus' work on the Cross is only a matriculation. They, the leaders of Pentecostalism are the lecturers with powers to determine whether you graduate or not, and that is, if you keep buying their lecture notes, keep paying the mandatory fees and keep passing their metered examinations from a good distance.

Salvation, thereunder, becomes a never ending but fickle transaction. Under that system, Jesus is a liar. "It is finished", Jesus lied. "It is fee-furnished", cries the Pentecostals in correction. And the more you pay, the more you get. If you used to do 10%, try getting 90%. And do not worry, for according to Enoch Adeboye, they have the power to make right to be wrong for you and vice versa.

And so like Catholicism, ancient and modern, under Pentecostalism, everyone gets to earn their ultimate "entry into heaven" - aka, becoming a child of God - for keeps.

That's what at stake when you hear your pastors say it is heresy to say, "once saved, always saved". They mean, 'you are the one to save yourself'. Jesus only gave you a demonstration as to how to get that process started. And until you win your way over sin, aided somehow by Jesus and the Holy Ghost, and the payment of various indulgences (tithes, offerings, being a 'worker', etc), you shall not be with Jesus, in Paradise. Your deal, is guaranteed, worse than that of the thief on Calvary who died with Christ.

To make you accept that unbiblical version of salvation peddled for gain by Pentecostalism, Satan nicely raises men like Abel Damina to pretend to be the voice of true salvation so that through his pompous mischaracterisation of salvation by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone to the glory of God alone, enough people would be convinced to accept salvations by human merit as all that God has to offer.

Don't do that. It is a historical scam. A deadly scam. For whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Salvation is of the Lord. It is not by works of righteousness but by His grace alone. It is God who wills in you "both to will and to do according to His good pleasure". Our righteousness, whatever it is worth, on this side of eternity, is only possible, and worth a reward, when we realise the guarantee of the seal of the "Child of God".

Nobody is going to Heaven because of their right doing. No, not one. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life.

If Femi Falana is using his name recognition to directly or indirectly (through his children or proxies) arrange presidential/governorship pardons, etc, that's just plain wrong.

VDM is not the problem here. Bobrisky and his relationships with the Falanas is the problem. What has come to light through the voice recordings of Bobrisky is problematic.

Is there a precedence for media savvy human rights activists to leverage their earned media quotient to begin to do deals with polititical high-ups? Yes. The entire civil rights network of the US is more or less a self-aggrandizing scam used to position for privileges from black-run cities/states and democratic party led presidencies.

So, Femi Falanas needs tp come clear as to his operation in the "pardon" securing business. How many has he executed in the last few decades? What actuated them? Is he being paying for them? Are those people worthy recipients of the secured pardons based on requisite metrics or were they cash-actuated transactions.

That's what we need to know. That obfuscating talk as t o "hard-earned" reputation is neither here nor there. What matters here is hard data, from Falana that is verifiable by independent players.
