I agree, distance is rarely a barrier. In today’s world, business and professional services move easily across borders. But beyond transactions and fees, there’s a deeper layer to it.
Let me put this in context.
I am a Lagos-based lawyer with over fifteen years’ experience, focused on handling briefs across Nigeria in the following areas:
Litigation
Company Secretariat
Labour & Employment
Probate & Trusts
Family Law
Dispute Resolution
Real Estate Practice
My work has taken me across much of the country, by road and by air, with at least an overnight stay in all South-West states, as well as Kwara, Kogi, Edo, Delta, Benue, Imo, and Abuja. These trips were not incidental; they were driven by the demands of client service. And beyond delivering results, each journey has deepened my understanding of people, their perspectives on the law, their expectations, and life generally.
At the same time, technology has enabled me to act for clients beyond Nigeria, including in Ghana, China, Bermuda, and several others across the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.
So yes, it goes beyond business and money. It reflects trust, clients recognising the value of what you offer and choosing to engage you regardless of distance. And it reinforces a simple goal: to keep growing, to serve more people, and to extend that reach into new states and jurisdictions.
