EQUITY CHAMBERS BUK VISITED THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, ABUJA.

In furtherance of one of its core objectives; to equip members with a sound understanding of national policies and programmes while fostering advocacy and leadership skills—Equity Chambers, Bayero University Kano, embarked on an educational visit to the National Assembly, Abuja.

The visit commenced with a warm reception by the Educational and Excursion Unit of the National Assembly. During this session, members of the Chamber engaged in a robust and enlightening discussion, where they were thoroughly briefed on the structure, functions, and operational procedures of the legislative arm of government. This interaction provided invaluable insight into the day-to-day workings of the National Assembly.

Subsequently, the delegation proceeded to the Senate Chambers, where members had the rare opportunity to observe legislative proceedings firsthand. This experience offered practical exposure to parliamentary processes and enriched their understanding of lawmaking in Nigeria.

The visit also featured an extensive tour of the National Assembly complex. Members were guided through significant areas, including sections dedicated to past Senate Presidents, former Speakers of the House of Representatives, and other notable landmarks within the complex, further deepening their appreciation of Nigeria’s legislative history and institutional framework.

A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of a complimentary award to Equity Chambers by the Office of the Clerk, in recognition of the Chamber’s commitment to academic excellence and institutional engagement.

Overall, the visit was both impactful and inspiring, reinforcing the Chamber’s dedication to producing well-rounded members who are not only legally proficient but also socially conscious and leadership-driven.

MEMBERS OF EQUITY CHAMBERS BUK ATTENDED THE POLICY DIALOGUE ORGANISED BY LAW CORRIDOR

Equity Chambers Bayero University Kano was present at the Policy Dialogue on Nigeria’s Electoral Landscape, organized by Law Corridor on 29th April 2026 at the Abuja Continental. The engagement provided a valuable platform for critical reflections on electoral reforms and institutional development ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Pressing issues revolving around the Electoral Act 2026, party internal democracy, and electoral justice were discussed.

This participation underscores one of the core commitments of Equity Chambers BUK; active involvement in policy-driven conversations that contribute meaningfully to national development and the strengthening of democratic institutions.

The event witnessed the presence of key figures of the Chambers, including the Principal Partner, Abubakar Abdullahi Raji, SABUK; the Director of Research and Litigation, Isah Bala Garba, SABUK; Aliyya Jibril Abdullahi; alongside other distinguished members of the Chambers.
