This happens whenever I stop procrastinating.
I was privileged to present two thought-provoking papers at the International Conference for the Institute of Administration (ICIA 2025), held at the CBN Centre of Excellence, ABU Business School, from 6th–9th July 2025.
1️⃣ "Strengthening the Legal and Regulatory Framework for Derivatives Contracts in Nigeria" The paper examined reform strategies for Nigeria’s evolving derivatives market, particularly in ensuring legal clarity, investor protection, and regulatory innovation.
I am glad that after about two years of procrastination, I was able to get this paper presented, having led the idea at a Central Bank of Nigeria workshop for its staff earlier.
2️⃣ "Succession in the Digital Age under the Common Law: Legal Challenges in the Management and Administration of Digital Estates in Nigeria" Here, I examined the complexities surrounding digital inheritance, from cryptocurrencies and social media assets to online intellectual property, and their implications for estate law in Nigeria.
Like the first paper, I was privileged to have served as a panelist in a conference organised by The Metropolitan Law Firm and FBNQuest some time ago. I dwelled on the questions and ideas generated until I was able to expound on them at this conference.
Both papers generated interest and were found outstanding. I remain committed to advancing scholarship and policy solutions that bridge law, innovation, and sustainable development.
