A Birthday Epistle to My Political Leader Abubakar Bukola Saraki

Distinguished Senator Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki,

On this special day, I write with deep admiration and gratitude to celebrate not only your remarkable life but also your enduring legacy as a beacon of leadership, service, and inspiration.

As a former Governor of Kwara State and the President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, your leadership has been nothing short of exemplary. You have set a standard for political integrity, legislative excellence, and a relentless commitment to the progress of Nigeria and her people. Your vision of a more united and prosperous Nigeria has inspired many of us who look up to you as a guiding light in the often tumultuous world of politics.

For me personally, as a lawyer and a student of governance, your courage in the face of challenges and your ability to champion the cause of democracy have deeply influenced my political beliefs. You taught us that leadership is not about personal ambition but about service to the people, standing firm for justice, and putting the needs of the nation above all else.

Your tenure as the President of the Senate will forever be remembered as a period of robust legislation and nation-building. Through your wisdom and strategic thinking, you demonstrated that collaboration and inclusion are the pillars of effective governance. You taught us that politics is not about division but about fostering unity, even in the face of opposition.

As you celebrate another year of life, I pray for your continued strength, wisdom, and good health. May Allah (SWT) bless you abundantly and grant you many more years to continue your invaluable contributions to our beloved country.

Thank you for being, a role model, and an unwavering source of inspiration to me and countless others. The principles you stand for have become a compass for those of us who strive for a better Nigeria.

Happy Birthday, Your Excellency! May your legacy continue to thrive, and may your light never dim.

With the highest regard and respect,

Barrister Farid Abdulrazzaq Salman

Rethinking Nigeria’s Future: A Call for Unity and Governance Reform

The deafening silence that greeted our warnings about the consequences of re-electing the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections mirrored the depths of Nigeria’s societal divisions. In a nation rich with multicultural diversity, the failure to grasp the inherent strength in our differences remains a poignant reality.

During the 2023 elections, the APC resorted to divisive tactics, exploiting religious and cultural fault lines to secure power. This manipulation not only underscored the party’s desperation but also underscored a lack of vision for inclusive governance.

From 2015 to 2023, Nigeria witnessed a stark regression across all key indicators, from economic growth to security, with the ruling party failing to address any of the nation’s pressing challenges.

It is disheartening that, amidst the fervor of choosing new leadership, fundamental considerations are often overlooked. How could a nation knowingly reinstate failure? Despite eight years of lackluster governance, the APC’s return to power exemplifies a failure of collective memory and foresight.

The persistence of religious and thought leaders in endorsing a regime that perpetuates widespread poverty highlights a systemic failure in our societal ethos. A revolution of our thought processes is imperative, urging Nigerians to prioritize critical analysis over blind allegiance.

Embedded within our societal fabric is a pernicious tribal and religious chasm, perpetuated by politically motivated propaganda. Yet, true progress necessitates a collective embrace of unity, transcending divisive rhetoric.

Amidst the prevailing adversities, baseless tribal and religious arguments only serve to deepen societal schisms. To chart a path forward, we must transcend these divisions and embrace a unified national identity.

While acknowledging the reinstatement of failure under the APC, unity remains our beacon amid the storm. Our diversity, if harnessed effectively, promises immense benefits in decision-making, creativity, and community development.

Efforts to further divide us are intensifying, especially on social media. Recent calls for a shift from a presidential to a parliamentary system, warrant serious consideration. The inherent flaws of the presidential system, exemplified by its inefficiency and lack of accountability, underscore the need for reform.

A parliamentary system, tailored to Nigeria’s diverse landscape, offers a viable alternative. Drawing inspiration from past successes, such as the era of Sir Tafawa Balewa, a parliamentary framework ensures enhanced governance through transparency and accountability.

Unlike the current presidential system, wherein power is concentrated in the hands of one individual, a parliamentary model distributes authority, fostering a culture of oversight and collaboration. The ability of parliamentarians to hold the Prime Minister accountable reflects a democratic ideal sorely lacking in the current system.

Nigeria’s democracy, rather than a mere emulation of foreign models, should be uniquely tailored to our socio-cultural context. The inherent diversity of our nation renders a centralized leadership model untenable, necessitating a shift towards inclusive governance.

In pursuit of national progress, the overhaul of our governance structure is paramount. The presidential system’s detrimental impact on local government authorities and the judiciary underscores the urgency of reform.

As we navigate the complexities of our nation’s future, unity and governance reform stand as linchpins of progress. By embracing our diversity and reimagining our governance framework, we can forge a path towards a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

Sincerely,

Farid Abdulrazzaq Salman Esq

Why Abubakar Bukola Saraki Should Be the Next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The Rise of a Gladiator

Saraki’s life exemplifies a journey of excellence, marked by his education in prestigious institutions, medical practice in England, and tenure as a director in a Nigerian bank. His political career began as the Special Assistant to the then President of Nigeria, H.E Olusegun Obasanjo, focusing on budget planning and displaying his dynamic leadership skills. Upon winning the gubernatorial election in 2003, Saraki’s innovative governance in Kwara State impacted various sectors, including education, health, sports, youth development, environmental reforms, and infrastructure.

Educational Transformation and Beyond

Saraki’s influence on the educational sector is profound, evident in the transition of schools from a quantitative to a qualitative scheme and the establishment of Kwara State University. Under his leadership, tertiary education experienced significant growth, with the university now employing thousands and graduating over 5000 students annually. Initiatives such as the international Aviation College and the Kwara Football Academy underscore his dedication to progressive change.

Making a Difference on the National Stage

As the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Saraki elevated its status and played a pivotal role in adopting the Doctrine of Necessity, averting a constitutional crisis during President Umaru Musa Yaradua’s illness. In the health sector, he collaborated with international organizations to combat diseases like polio, demonstrating his commitment to governance beyond partisan politics.

Facing Trials with Resilience

Accused of corruption, Saraki faced trials and emerged victorious, emphasizing his commitment to transparency. Born into wealth, he’s not known for a flamboyant lifestyle, and legal victories, like the return of seized properties in 2020, suggest targeted political opposition.

Looking to the Future

Saraki’s alignment with the People’s Democratic Party and support for Atiku Abubakar in 2023 demonstrate his commitment to political ideals. Anticipating PDP members rallying behind him in 2027, envisioning Saraki as a formidable candidate against the ruling party aligns with the need for positive change in Nigeria’s political landscape. His track record, dedication, and non-partisan character position him as a potential catalyst for Nigeria’s progress. A call to fellow youths to engage in the political process and obtain IVCs underscores the collective effort needed for a new and better Nigeria. As Saraki stands at the crossroads of political anticipation, his vision for Nigeria remains rooted in building bridges, fairness, and equity. His commitment to listening, humility, and collaborative problem-solving signals a leader who understands the nuances of the diverse nation.

The Nigerian political landscape is at a pivotal moment, demanding leadership that transcends partisan divides. Saraki’s non-partisan character positions

him as a unifying force, essential for steering the nation toward a future defined by progress, inclusivity, and shared prosperity.

In navigating the challenges ahead, his marathon approach to politics signifies resilience and a steadfast dedication to the long-term betterment of the nation. While some may attempt to portray him negatively on social media, Saraki’s focus on substance over rhetoric reflects a mature understanding of the complexities inherent in governance.

Saraki’s ability to assemble competent teams, regardless of social or cultural backgrounds, exemplifies his commitment to meritocracy. In a political landscape where discrimination based on ethnicity or religion is not uncommon, his inclusive approach sets a positive precedent for fostering unity and collaboration.

Looking Forward to 2027

Saraki’s candidacy in 2027 represents a potential turning point, offering voters a choice that transcends mere political affiliations.

In conclusion, the trials Saraki has faced and overcome serve as a testament to his resilience and determination to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development. The journey ahead is long, but with a leader of Saraki’s caliber, Nigeria has the opportunity to navigate it with purpose and vision, fostering a future that aligns with the aspirations of its diverse populace.

Embracing Personal Growth: My Journey as Barr. Farid Abdulrazzaq Salman

Greetings,

Today, I want to share a deeply personal decision I have made—to pause partisan politics in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole and focus on my career and personal growth for the next decade. This choice has been driven by a multitude of reasons, including personal issues and a profound desire for self-development. Join me as I delve into the motivations behind this decision and the transformative potential it holds

In life, we all encounter personal challenges that demand our immediate attention and care. Over the years, I have faced various obstacles that have impeded my ability to actively engage in politics. These challenges encompassed financial constraints, familial responsibilities, health issues, and personal circumstances that required my undivided attention. By prioritizing personal growth, I am ensuring that I address these challenges, laying a solid foundation upon which I can later contribute meaningfully to the political landscape.

The decision to pause partisan politics is an empowering choice for self-development. Throughout the next decade, I am committed to honing my skills, acquiring knowledge, and expanding my expertise. This investment in personal growth will equip me to become a more effective agent of change in the future. Whether through pursuing advanced education, engaging in professional training, or gaining practical experience, this journey will strengthen my capacity to contribute positively to politics when the time is right.

Partisan politics often perpetuates a narrow focus and fosters an "us versus them" mentality. By temporarily stepping away from this environment, I am creating space to develop a more balanced perspective. I will immerse myself in diverse experiences, engage in dialogue with individuals from different backgrounds, and explore alternative viewpoints. This broadened perspective will enhance my ability to empathize, collaborate, and develop effective solutions when I eventually re-engage in political discourse.

My focus on personal growth and career development will not only benefit myself but also contribute to the growth and development of my community. By achieving personal success and professional milestones, I can create a positive impact through job creation, economic growth, and the acquisition of resources that can be channeled towards philanthropic initiatives. Through my professional endeavors, I aim to lay the groundwork for future political engagement, utilizing the resources and expertise gained to effect meaningful change.

As I embark on this journey of personal growth, I hope to inspire others to do the same. By leading by example, I believe that self-improvement and individual success are integral to societal progress. As you witness my commitment to personal growth, I encourage you to pursue your own journey of self-development. Together, we can create a ripple effect, fostering a more enlightened and engaged citizenry dedicated to positive change in our communities and nation.

Thank you for joining me on this personal journey. By pausing partisan politics and prioritizing personal growth, I am addressing personal challenges, cultivating a balanced perspective, and strengthening my professional endeavors. Through this path, I aspire to become an even more effective advocate for justice and progress. As I continue to grow, I hope to inspire you to embark on your own paths of self-improvement, ultimately contributing to a brighter future for our beloved Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole. Together, let us embrace personal growth and unlock our full potential for positive change. And to the Peoples Democratic Party family, let us see what the next decade will hold.

Regards

Kwara Hotel and Kwara Diagnostic Centre - both shut down. The Cargo Terminal has been converted, there are no streetlights, no functioning Local Government Council, and zero accountability for state and local government funds. The roads are in disrepair and projects with misplaced priorities have been incomplete for four years. The government celebrates payment of salaries while increasing tertiary institution fees.

Abraham Lincoln once said, “to sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men”. This is a quote I hold dear, because it drives me to continue to speak the truth amidst insults and derogation from unscrupulous people.

They distribute state funds in caskets to buy votes and thrive on lies and propaganda. They even blame a former Governor who served 12 years ago, for their own shortcomings, and use him as a scapegoat for everything that goes wrong. There is no housing scheme, and development is at a standstill.

Despite all we say some peeps will insult and accuse us of being slaves for speaking up. But we will always speak up and tell the truth. History will only favour those who speak the truth. Like Gloria Steinem said, The truth will set you free, but first it will p**s you off.

People should vote wisely because the consequences of electing people who have failed to deliver on their promises can be disastrous for Kwara state. Choosing to reinstate such people is a disservice to the people and could lead to further disappointment, disillusionment, and lack of progress.

It is also important to note that four years is enough time for a competent leader to demonstrate their capacity to govern effectively. If a leader is unable to show significant progress towards achieving set goals or addressing the issues facing the state within this timeframe, it is unlikely that they will do so in the future.

When people are induced with money to vote for a particular candidate, they are not voting based on the candidate's merit or capability to deliver on campaign promises. Instead, they are being swayed by monetary incentives, which creates a vicious cycle of corruption and bad governance.

This results in leaders who prioritize their personal interests over the common good, leading to a lack of development and progress in the state. In essence, vote buying subverts democracy and perpetuates a cycle of poverty and underdevelopment.

SHINE YOUR EYES… 20k 10k 5k will not suffice you for the next 4 years. Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah supports this nation due to the weak amongst them by their supplications, their prayers, and their sincerity. And verily, the taking of bribes and the withholding of rights is a darkness on the Day of Resurrection. And verily, the politician is a guardian and he will be questioned regarding his subjects.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi)

When they say the 16 years of PDP was a rot… You can show them this, let them show us their own legacy for the past 4 years…

They’ll tell you they’re paying salaries… Just because you have hatred for Saraki does not mean it should cloud your sense of truth.

Or just because you have benefited 20k, you’ll come out to ride on propaganda….

Vote wisely and vote for prosperity, vote for Alhaji Yaman Shuaib Abdullahi. Do not vote for those who didn’t remember they had to give your group money before until a week to election.

Posterity is at stake here, let the PDP continue with its blueprint for Kwara. Our plans are second to none and our legacies still stand tall today in Kwara.
