They are all flooding down south because they have seen that banditry and kidnapping is the in thing here. And some of their enablers will tell you these criminals flooding our space are Nigerians and so are free to move wherever they want. Move into our forests to become a menace to the local population ?

If our State Govt has become their tacit enablers, what do you say about our traditional rulers ? I have not heard the Edo Traditional rulers holding stakeholders meeting to protect their people. All they fight over is prestige and big money.

The calamity that will befall us is still doing push ups.

This to my mind was a very serious omission. From the facts before the trial court, it was clear that the main dispute between the parties was the adequacy of the price of the shares and such a dispute is capable of monetary compensation.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja dismissed an appeal that was filed by the reinstated Edo state deputy governor, Philip Shaibu to nullify the primary election that produced Asue Ighodalo as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The three-man panel of Justice gave the ruling on Monday, July 22. UGC Justice, A. M Lamido-led panel said it found no reason to set aside the May 27 judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which refused to invalidate the PDP governorship primary election the PDP based on the suit by the Appellant.

As reported by Vanguard, the appellate court awarded a cost of N1 million against the Appellant and in favour of the Respondents in the matter. Shaibu prayed the court to among other things, compel the PDP to conduct a fresh primary election in the state. He sought an order to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising Ighodalo as the authentic candidate of the party. All his prayers were rejected by the court.

Legit.ng recalls that Ighadalo was affirmed as the authentic winner of the PDP primary election in Edo state. Justice James Omotosho of the federal high court in Abuja affirmed the candidature of Ighodalo while delivering the verdict on the suit filed by the state's former governor, Philip Shaibu. The court ruled that Ighodalo was duly elected as the candidate of the PDP for the forthcoming governorship election in Edo.
