I remain grateful to Allah for the opportunity I had during my NYSC at the Bauchi State Ministry of Justice in 2013/2014 to be attached to you through A. R. Sabo Esq. It was under your guidance that I made my first appearance in court as a young lawyer—an experience I will always cherish.
Your appointment as the Permanent Secretary/Solicitor General, Bauchi State Ministry of Justice, and now your elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria are clear testimonies and well-deserved recognition of years of diligence, integrity, and excellence at the Bar. May Allah (SWT) bless this new phase of your professional life with greater wisdom, strength, and continued success. May He make the rank a means of greater service to justice and humanity.

The statement by His Excellency, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, on the occasion of Workers’ Day is both timely and reassuring. His administration deserves commendation for maintaining consistency in the payment of salaries, pensions, and other entitlements, particularly in the face of prevailing economic challenges. The commitment shown towards clearing outstanding gratuities owed to retirees at both the state and local government levels is equally noteworthy and reflects a recognition of the dignity of labour and service.
Furthermore, the efforts made to improve working conditions across public institutions are acknowledged as steps in the right direction. These measures contribute to strengthening morale and enhancing productivity within the workforce.
However, it is important to note that the overall condition of service in the state still falls short of what can reasonably be described as a living wage. Many workers continue to grapple with economic realities that outpace their earnings, thereby affecting their standard of living.
In addition, the workforce at the local government councils and Local Education Authorities has been significantly depleted over time due to retirements, deaths, and other factors. Regrettably, there has been no corresponding recruitment to bridge this gap throughout the tenure of the present administration. This has placed increased pressure on the remaining workforce and has implications for effective service delivery at the grassroots level.
As the administration approaches its remaining months in office, there is a legitimate expectation among workers and stakeholders that more deliberate steps will be taken to address these concerns. There is hope that the government will prioritize improving wages and initiating strategic employment to revitalize the public service.
Overall, while the achievements recorded are commendable, there remains room for further progress to ensure that workers in the state are not only paid regularly but are also adequately supported to live and work with dignity.

The Truth of Bravery
He who has never known war is the one who says he is ready,
He has never heard the sound of gunfire, his heart is light and merry.
He holds a sword while laughing, thinking it is just a game,
Not knowing that the battlefield is no place for jest or name.
Then comes the day when dust rises, and the earth begins to shake,
He realizes that bravery is not mere words one can make.
The experienced one stays silent, his heart filled with plan and care,
For he knows that war carries blood and history everywhere.
The lesson stands clear before all who choose to see,
No one is truly ready except one who knows its reality.

I commend you for the long nights of study, the challenges you overcame, and the strength of character you displayed throughout your journey. This achievement is a clear testament to your commitment to excellence and service.
As you take the oath and formally enter this noble profession, I appeal to you to remain steadfast, humble, and guided by integrity. Uphold the ethics of the medical profession, place humanity at the centre of your practice, and never lose sight of the values that brought you this far.
