1. Land banking is simply the act of buying and holding land for a long period of time (5-20years), before selling it off.
It is highly advisable to buy cheap properties if you intend to hold for a long period of time,

WHILE
2. Land Flipping is the act of buying land, holding for a short period of time (2 months- 3yrs) and sell it out.
This practice is best done with properties in already developed or developing areas, or location.

NB: Do not go for cheap lands if you want to Flip!

All these practices can fall under Land Trading Category of real estate investing.
