We have now closed our case in the last of the petitions (Andrew Mbang) before the JPI in Rivers state.

We'd like to thank our Senior Counsel, Abdul Aminu Mahmud and associates Charles Eshiet & Victor Ikenna Chinyeaka for their hard-work on the petitions.

Our gratitude also goes to all those who weighed in with resources to make our pro-bono crusade to seek justice for families and individuals who have lost loved ones to or suffered from successful.

We hope that the findings of the panels will be useful in serving true justice for all.

Since the Judicial Panels of Inquiry commenced its hearings, we have travelled to the south-east and south-south parts of Nigeria, representing on a pro-bono basis, six different families who have had a member fall victim to one or more of the many condemnable acts of brutality perpetrated by the now defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad Unit of the Nigerian Police Force.

We remain committed to the defence of human rights and the insistence on a sane, civilised and dignifying society for all, irrespective of tribe, religion, creed or social status.

Our motion challenging the competence of the criminal complaint in Kenechukwu Okeke v Aisha Yesufu & 49 others which came up this morning in Magistrate Court 4, Wuse Zone 6 has been adjourned indefinitely.

The motion has been sent back to the central registry following the transfer of the magistrate who slated it for hearing today.

No prior notice was sent to the Applicants/Defendants counsel.

When it is reassigned, we will be ready as ever to argue it.
