While many Malaysians are enjoying the long weekend, our Head of Pre-University Studies, Mr Alexander Raj, remains committed to educating young minds.

On 30th May, Mr Alex delivered a talk on Malaysia's newly enacted laws relating to bullying, harassment, stalking, and doxxing at the Bahang Bay Hotel, Penang.

As technology continues to shape the way we communicate and interact, awareness of these laws is increasingly important. Through initiatives such as this, we hope to empower young people with the knowledge needed to navigate the digital world responsibly and to understand their rights and responsibilities under the law.

A big thank you to KRYSS Network and Pertubuhan Perpustakaan Komuniti Batu Feringghi for organising this meaningful programme and providing a platform to engage with the community.

⚖️ Understanding the Law in the Digital Age ⚖️

Our Foundation in Law students had the privilege of attending an insightful talk by Mr Ng Kian Nam of Ng Kian Nam & Partners, who shared valuable knowledge on several recently enacted laws in Malaysia relating to bullying, harassment, doxxing, and stalking.

Drawing on recent Malaysian cases, Mr Ng explained how these laws operate in practice and highlighted the legal consequences that can arise from actions both online and offline.

As future legal professionals and informed citizens, understanding these developments is essential in navigating an increasingly connected world.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr Ng Kian Nam for taking the time to share his expertise and create greater awareness among our students.

Our UK Degree Transfer (UKT) students recently stepped beyond the classroom and into history with a field trip to the Penang History Gallery, as part of their MPU subject, Ethics and Civilisation.

The visit offered a meaningful opportunity to connect theoretical concepts with real-world context, bringing discussions on ethics, identity, and civilisation to life.

At ATC, we believe that education goes beyond textbooks. Experiences like these are designed to deepen understanding, encourage reflection, and nurture well-rounded individuals who are not only academically capable, but socially aware.

ATC Moot 2026 ⚖️

Six teams from the UK Transfer LLB programme stepped into the Moot Court, tackling a complex and thought-provoking family dispute that tested not just their legal knowledge, but their judgment, empathy, and advocacy skills.

The moot problem centres on a deeply contested parental disagreement involving a mother's proposed relocation with a rather unconventional new partner, and a sensitive medical decision on the treatment of a child’s eczema. As always, the law is only part of the story. The real challenge lies in balancing rights, welfare, and reason.

After a series of intense rounds, we are proud to announce that the Finalists are:

The Final Round will take place on Tuesday, 31st March 2026. Students are welcome to watch. However seats are limited.

Expect sharp arguments, strategic advocacy, and a showcase of what future lawyers are truly capable of.
