After more than 8 months of waiting 15–20 business days for INM (Immigration) to issue new cards after an exchange or renewal, we finally got some great news today! 🎉

We came in to renew for another 3 years, and to our surprise, we had our new cards in hand in less than 3 hours — the same day! 🙌🏼

Of course, I had to ask if this is now going to be the new normal. They told me they are trying to issue the cards the same day whenever possible.

They did mention that this may not apply to family reunification or regularization cases, which may still take longer.

Hopefully this is a sign of things getting faster at INM! 🤞🏼🇲🇽
