FIELD MARSHAL KIMATHI CELEBRATIONS: DISMANTLING THE HARMFUL COMMERCIALIZATION OF THE FREEDOM FIGHTER'S DAYS OF HONOR.

No one should pay to access the social celebration of our liberation and the social assertion for that freedom. The hyper celebrations devoid of historical content and seriousness belittles the great memory of Dedan Kimathi and Mau Mau.

The Kenya Land and Freedom Army, misnomered MAUMAU, was and still is a people's movement. The masses of the struggling Africans therefore condemn the ultra commercialization of the days of honor of the freedom fighters, their leaders and their struggles. By ultra commercialization we mean that the charging of a gatepass by several Organisations that claim to be a major vanguard of the people's struggle is unacceptable and harmful to the struggle.

The petty-bourgeoisie and middle class characteristics is harmful and serves as a turn off to the downtrodden. Historically the petty-bourgesie tendencies has been associated with the enemies of the masses, it is a character of opportunists and betrayors.
The mau mau struggle was fueled by the peasant and the wretched lower working classes of society who only contributed where necessary , in the buying of weapons and other key materials but not to access their own ceremonies/gatherings. It seems this generation has not studied this and understood why the Mau Mau fought and why the peasants and working class supported the cause for independence. The revolution is not a dinner party and should not be reduced to one!

In summary, the denial of access to any 100th Dedan Kimathi celebration/ social event based on a gatepass/entry fee is nothing but the continued looting of our wealth by the homegauards and their lackeys. No one should pay to access the social celebration of our liberation and the social assertion for that freedom.

Vaughn Andre Benjamin was born in the eastern Caribbean Island of Antigua on August 13, 1969, Vaughn resided for many years in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where he formed Midnite with his brother, bassist and keyboardist, Ron Benjamin in 1989; Vaughn and Ron are the sons of Antiguan musician Ronnie Benjamin Sr. Ron’s musical expertise provided a stunning complement to Vaughn’s ethereal chanted vocals that seemingly channeled an astute ancestral spirit.
Vaughn released an estimated 1,500 songs; his spellbinding words, steeped in Biblical verse, historical injustices, African liberation and the teachings of Ethiopian emperor and Rastafarian Divinity, Haile Selassie I were intended to help build a more cognizant and compassionate society. He left a profoundly influential, distinctive legacy.
There are many clichés in reggae but Vaughn was a refreshing, genuine voice who explored things. Vaughan Benjamin was an EPITOME and EMBODIMENT of CONSCIOUS music that liberated spirits from the yoke of oppression. Rastafari CENTRALIZED society of Kenya celebrates AKAE BEKA and urges all Rasta’s in Kenya to CENTRALIZE AND ORGANIZE, we lead that front. Kenya was privileged to host AKAE BEKA in 2017 while he also left his mark by collaborating with one of the original souls of reggae in Kenya, Rebelius Monk on a conscious tune known as TRIBULATIONS. True to its prophecy 2020 has been troubles and tribulations but we shall OVERCOME as Jah guides.
