“It is said that books are person’s best friend. But today where technology has taken over the interests of the people to decrease the gap between the readers” was stated by the President of the Bar Association of Ratnapura inaugurating the book exhibition organized by the Bar Association of Ratnapura. It was conducted by M. D. Gunasena & Co. Pvt. Ltd. at the Court Premises on the 27th & 28th of August 2019. The occasion was graced by the Hon. Judges of the Civil Appellate Court, High Court, District Court, Magistrate Court, Additional Magistrate Court and the President of the Labour Tribunal Ratnapura who were warmly welcomed by the President, Mrs. Prajapali Atukorale and Secretary, Mrs. Priyanka Gunawarnsooriya on behalf of the Bar Association of Ratnapura.
Books of various variety, authors, genres, and subjects were put up in the exhibition for the reading lovers of Ratnapura to take the pleasure of the world of books and knowledge. The exhibition also displayed a rich variety of non academic books as well as academic books.

The first Seminar of the Sabaragamuwa Province held on behalf of the members of the Bar Association of Ratnapura and all other registered Notaries in Ratnapura, was conducted by the Provincial Revenue Department of the Sabaragamuwa Province to discuss issues regarding Stamp duty, Valuation and other related matters, on the 07th of February, 2019 at Samudhi Reception Hall, New Town, Ratnapura. The Revenue Commissioner, the Deputy Revenue Commissioner, the Chief Secretary, the Senior Tax Officer, Mr. Raveen Bandara of the Sabaragamuwa Province and the Retired Revenue Commissioner of the Western Province addressed the seminar.
