National Innovation Agency had a fruitful discussion with the U.S. Intellectual Property (IP) Counselor for South Asia Mr.John Cabeca & Ms.Shilpi Jha Senior Commercial Specialist & IP Policy Advisor - South Asia at USPTO on 3rd May 2022 during their visit to Sri Lanka.
Possible collaboration between NIA and USPTO on Innovation ecosystem development was discussed. Chief Innovation Officer of NIA Prof. Prof Ajith de Alwis and the NIA TISC team was present at this meeting.

Former TISC@COSTI now TISC@NIA successfully completed WIPO EIE project IP& Technology Remote Mentoring Programme for the 3rd consecutive year...

Thank you, dear Mentors...

National Innovation Agency(NIA) successfully completed the IP & Technology remote mentoring programme 2021-2022 which is a part of the Enabling Innovation Environment(EIE) Project by the World Intellectual Property Organization. NIA (former COSTI) participated in this programme for the 3rd consecutive year as a Proxi-Technology Transfer Office (TTO).

Six technologies were mentored under this programme on IP management, IP policy development, Tech transfer, Licensing process, and all aspect of commercialization. This year the technologies were selected from Rubber Research Institute (RRI), National Institute of Postharvest Management(NIPHM), and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University(KDU).
We thank all Institutes for their active participation in this mentoring programme.

We at NIA pay our heartiest gratitude to WIPO assign Expert Mentors for their immense contribution to making this event a success.

A Special Thank you to WIPO for your continuous support to uplift our country's status in Innovation.
Looking forward to working with you all in future mentoring sessions.
