For most countries outside India and China, the EB-2 category remains current on the Final Action Dates chart, meaning there is currently no priority date backlog for eligible applicants. This allows many professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, and highly skilled individuals to continue moving forward with their U.S. green card process without extended waiting periods.
USCIS has also confirmed that the Final Action Dates chart will remain the operative chart for employment-based filings in June 2026. In practical terms, eligible applicants may be able to file Form I-485 and continue progressing toward permanent residency while visa numbers remain available.
At the same time, the bulletin notes continued retrogression for India and China in certain employment-based categories, with possible further movement expected before the fiscal year ends on September 30. Because immigration timelines can shift quickly, applicants considering the EB-2 route may benefit from preparing documentation and evaluating eligibility as early as possible.
For many international professionals and founders, the current EB-2 landscape represents an important opportunity to pursue long-term U.S. residency through employment, advanced professional achievement, or national interest-based pathways.
