ASEAN leaders and policymakers are calling for greater womenโs participation in the regional economy, with stronger access to finance, technology, markets, skills, and decent employment.
At the 4th ASEAN Women Leadersโ Summit in Manila, Cambodia highlighted four priorities: gender-responsive governance, developing future women leaders, womenโs roles in peace and resilience, and stronger womenโs economic leadership.
The discussions also emphasised support for women entrepreneurs and MSMEs, digital skills, education, mentorship, and greater access to capital and markets.
Key message: ASEAN is placing greater emphasis on women-led businesses, digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and leadership as important drivers of inclusive and resilient economic growth.
