The LSK Nairobi Branch shall undertake a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative on Monday, 22nd June 2026, through a visit to the Kamae Girls Borstal Institution as part of the Purple Ribbon Week 2026 activities.

Today, Mr. Ribin Ondwari, Vice Chair of the LSK Nairobi Branch, and Ms. Irene Kiwool, Council Member, participated in a member engagement forum convened by the Estate Agents Networking Group. The session brought together estate agents, Advocates practicing conveyancing, stakeholders in the real estate sector, and representatives of the Kenya Bankers Association.

Mr. Charles Kanjama, SC — President of the Law Society of Kenya delivered the key note address and Ms. Wambui Gaitha — Chairperson of the Estate Agents Networking Group delivered the opening remarks & strategic partnership proposals.

Ms. Wendy Muganda — Director of the Practice Standards Directorate, LSK was present alongside other key industry stakeholders.

Mr. Kanjama, SC, reaffirmed his commitment to fostering collaboration with professional groups across the sector. He acknowledged the challenges currently facing the property market and emphasized the urgency of addressing them. Confronting these issues, he noted, will be pivotal in unlocking and catalyzing sustainable economic growth.

Mr. Ribin Ondwari guided participants through Conveyancing Best Practices, focusing on the duties and mandates of Advocates, and the importance of safeguarding all parties in property transactions.

Ms. Irene Kiwool addressed the Legal Framework for Real Estate Practice, highlighting the provisions of the Estate Agents Act, the professional obligations of practitioners, and enforcement mechanisms. She stressed the urgent need to streamline the sector, underscoring that stronger regulation is essential to protect consumers from fraudulent agents and to uphold integrity within the industry.

Today's session underscored the importance of collaboration between Advocates, estate agents, and financial institutions in strengthening compliance and protecting stakeholders in real estate transactions.
