When launching the small claims court, the Judiciary called it, something like "justice chap chap". And it is no joke, 60 days after filing a case, you get justice delivered to you.

For personal injury cases, we advise for this Court as usually, the injured person needs the cash freed to cater for medical bills.

The Court has not disappointed and the personnel management is professional, so far. For those of you fellow kenyans who are either claiming money owed to you, movable properties and personal injury claims, this is the Court to be in. There are regional branches serving all the 47 counties of Kenya.

Before this Court, i would tell people who came to me for legal representation, "time will still run anyway, even if you do not sue". Nowadays, i just say, "in about 3 months, your rights will be realized".

Be encouraged to settle disputes in a civil way, inclusive of alternative dispute resolutions like negotiations and mediation which Article 159 of our Constitution of Kenya 2010 advocate for.

Most of the cases I deal with are from car accidents. These traffic road accidents account for a majority of the personal Injury cases in Court. The beauty with them is that payment is almost guaranteed since it is the insurance company to pay any sums of money a Court of law declares to be due. The fact that the Traffic Act, Cap 405 makes it mandatory for every car owner to insure their vehicle reduces the incidences of hit and run.

Today the 20th January 2022, I spent part of the day withdrawing this criminal case against two friends who have since settled their disagreement. Today was a follow up of the 17th work in the Court and am happy to see the happy ending.
Such a relief to see a man go home with nothing behind his back.
Kudos to Makadara Criminal Court and our entire Justice system in Kenya.
These modes of settling dispute apart from the Courts, commonly called Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism help in reducing the costs of conducting a case and leave happier people on both sides than when the Court has to command the enforcement of a decision. I am for it fully.

Employment Law: Termination
For those who have been dismissed from employment, please note that service pay is only payable to an employee where the employer was not paying for NSSF.
The court cannot award a dismissed employee this money if NSSF was paid for.
I thought you should know.

What people normally call, "kush*taki kifo" is the process undertaken after a person dies buy those left behind to allow them legally use the wealth of the just dead person. Lawyers will help, with advice or taking through the process.
Always, where you intend to buy a property and the registered owner is not the one selling but the wife/son/daughter/parent is the one selling it to you, be careful because that sale can be challenged and cancelled in court.
Ensure they are legally empowered to sell.

Buyer Beware:
Hello good citizens.
On buying land/property, I have seen people lose money after buying from the children of a dead person. This is shaky ground to keep off until the buyer is shown some key documents by such child chief among them being a confirmed letter of administration.
