This coming week i will be participating in the Civil Society and People with Lived Experience Capacity-Building Workshop (24–28 August 2026) convened by CBM Global Disability Inclusion.
As an Africa CDC Alumni and leader of Rauka Afrika an organization dedicated to individuals with lived experience, returning to this space is both a privilege and a vital opportunity to drive meaningful change.
Real progress in mental health systems across Africa requires:
Centering authentic, lived experiences at the core of policy and program design.
Bridging grassroots community realities with high-level public health strategy.
Strengthening sustainable civil society networks that advocate for inclusive, dignified mental healthcare.
I look forward to reconnecting with fellow alumni, collaborating with passionate advocates, and contributing to strategic capacity-building alongside the Africa CDC.
Greatful to Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN) for the spotlights.
