Dependent visa and the supporter's situation
In the screening of dependent visa process, they check it from two points of view.
One is about dependent member whom you want to invite, and the other is about you.
Since the supporter's work, income, or activity, etc., are very important elements to dependent's life in Japan, you have to be careful when you apply for it.
One case I want to share.
He applied for dependent visa.
His visa was "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services".
After graduating vocational school or Senmon-gakko about hotel management in Japan, he got a job at a hotel.
Unfortunately, the application was denied.
The reason was his contents of work in the hotel.
When applying for the visa, he submitted his work certificate of the hotel.
On the certificate, his position in charge was described as banquet service.
As you know, in the current immigration rule, there is no visa for simple labor in Japan.
The inspector of Immigration Office told him that why he had been engaged in the simple labor, even though he graduated Senmon-gakko.
Actually, to do a comprehensive work in the hotel, he needed to have on the job training of banquet service.
He did not get a job at the hotel to do only banquet service.
However, the hotel gave him the certificate that is not well explained his situation.
So, immigration office considered that his activity is not appropriate, and did not grant him the visa.
After that, he and the hotel could manage to make immigration office understand his situation, and now he is preparing for application of the visa again.
In conclusion, the relationship of the contents of work you are doing and your visa are one of the important factors as to visa process, and which is applicable to applying for dependent visa.
Thank you.
