A customer needs to increase the volume of kilowatts in the house due to the continuous interruptions of last summer with friends and family being at home: swimming pool, appliances, AC, boiler, etc. turned on at the same time, in fact, consume a lot. A rather important intervention is therefore necessary at the level of the electrical line, adding a new one (three-phase) which involves adjustments to the electrical panel, new switches inside the house and adjustments in the garden as well as making a hole in the floor to pass a new one into the house. In the meantime, the customer has decided to replace the hob, the oven and the dishwasher which, being very old, caused excessive consumption. Here I am in the presence of the electrician and the furniture expert, whose intervention will allow us to make some necessary changes in the kitchen, respecting aesthetics, functionality and of course the customer’s budget.

Back to work with vengeance after the Christmas holidays, after all a client of mine is coming to spend a few days in Piedmont with his family (hoping for good weather!). It is then necessary to adjust the thermostat to make the internal temperature pleasant, check the cleanliness and book a new cleaning as close as possible to his arrival.

Let’s talk about a story that seemed never-ending. A client of mine noticed a malfunction in her pellet stove and got in touch with a certified technician (the item is still under warranty). After several attempts, emails, messages and calls (in her slightly halting Italian, as is normal!), the “promises” (how bad we are!) by the technician to intervene as soon as possible were not kept. To make a long story short, the client asked me to take care of it and, after having noted that the technician would never ever intervene, I started looking for another certified technician for that brand of stoves and we quickly agreed to organize his intervention. No magic wand: just a lot of patience, right contacts, transparent communication and full availability. If you are still wondering, well yes! the stove started working again.

Routine visits during the coldest period of the year are essential to keep a decent state of the house in its entirety. Unfortunately in this case we noticed the presence of holes in the plasterboard ceiling (dormouse) and we immediately took action by communicating with the owner and activating our handyman for the repair. In a couple of days the plaster dried and he finished his work. And in the meantime he took advantage of it to cut the grass in the park!

We recommend keeping the indoor temperature at 10/15 degrees in the house during long winter absences. The decision is always up to the owner, but it can happen that sometimes there is no choice due to the heating system (for example, pellet). Here specifically, I am unplugging the fridge to reduce consumption (after all, what would it be for and who needs it, turned on?).
While it is better to keep the light on, to prevent some electrical appliances (such as the pool pump) from interrupting its function. It doesn’t take much, but using intelligence is not so obvious!

These photos won’t make you dream but it is precisely in the autumn/winter period that extraordinary maintenance interventions take place. This is the case where one of my clients is completely renovating the ground floor, with an enlarged kitchen and a new bathroom. Regardless of whether or not I have to follow the work directly with the construction company, it is a matter of keeping an eye on the progress of the work in place of the owner who lives far away.
