UK: New Changes Under Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) Rules

Important updates have been introduced for applicants and workers within the UK. If you're planning to work, switch jobs, or sponsor employees, here’s what you need to know:
🔹 New rules effective from 08-04-2026
🔹 Jobs must meet RQF Level 6 (Graduate level)
🔹 Only roles listed in the official occupation list are eligible
🔹 Switching jobs now requires a higher-skilled role
🔹 Mid & low-wage roles are no longer eligible
🔹 Switching employers within the UK has become more restrictive
🔹 Care roles have lost access to sponsorship
🔹 A new CoS is required when changing employers
🔹 A new CoS is required when switching occupation codes
🔹 Underpayment below salary threshold = Visa Refusal
🔹 Jobs below degree level cannot bring dependents
